My high school's doing the same thing this year. A few of the girls had to buy second dresses because they were afraid their first one was too revealing.

The one professor Liviu was reported on Fox today was a holocaust survivor who held the door shut with his body as his students escaped out the classroom, giving his life for them.

Also imagine the professors who takes over teaching the deceased professors classrooms in the coming days. That will have to be hard and emotional.

Unfortunately a friend of mine, Brian Bluhm, seems to be among the dead. I believe he had a graduate class for Advanced Hydrology with professor Loganathan, who has been confirmed as among the victims. I never knew him personally, but talked with him a few times a week on another online message board about Detroit sports. No one on the message board has heard from him and others have heard that he was among those shot. I can't remember if he claimed to be a believer, but I think I remember discussing it with him. I hope he made that choice!!!

This is so unbelievably sad.

not to try and take away from the tragedy of today, just explaining.
Sure. The phrase was kind of just left out there so I was curious.

Shooter at Tech massacre identified; 9 hospitalized; victims named
The Roanoke Times
9:34 a.m.

The shooter in yesterday's Virginia Tech massacre was identified this morning as Cho Seung-Hui, 23, a senior English major who lived on campus, said Tech Police Chief Wendell Flinchum.

Cho Seung-Hui, a South Korean of Centerville, Va., lived in Harper Hall, Flinchum said. Cho was a permanent legal resident of the U.S., Flinchum said.

Results of ballistic tests conducted at a federal lab in Maryland overnight confirmed that the same weapon was used in both on campus shooting events on Monday, a detail that proves they incidents were related, Flinchum said. Flinchum said police recovered two handguns from yesterday's massacre, a 9 millimeter Glock and a 22-caliber.

the rest of the story from the roanoke times.

This is probably a topic for another thread but the Europeans don't have a leg to stand on in the gun control argument. Within the last century, a couple dudes named Hitler and Stalin cut that leg off at the knees.

And, contrary to that idiot Moran's comments last night on Nightlline, violence like this is not limited to America. There's whackos all over the world.

Who cares what the European say. Wait until Iran starts hurling missles toward them and see what they think of the US then.

English majors are the unstable guys. Completely caught up in the vast unappreciated drama of their own lives.

Also, Religion majors.

Kidding.

Mostly.

If LU ever stood up for anything, it should be against these people calling themselves Christians.

I am not one that normally is into protests or that kind of thing, but I just don't want any of these families to think this is how real Christians are...I am sure out of the many that have died some were not Christians, and families aren't Christians, and instead of reaching out and showing love these people are completely twisting the Bible simply because they hate gay people so much....everything bad that happens is because of gay people....sure God allows things to happen for a reason, and God only knows that reason, but its not because he hates us....

I'm the same way, but with us being a huge Christian university, they're coming in our territory. Something should be done to show these families what real Christians are like.
