I haven't seem them broadcast like that all year, anyone know if its just because of the ACC tourney?Do you mean that you haven't seen any ACC games in HD or you haven't seen ANY games in HD on WDBJ?

If it is the former, I believe it has something to do with Jefferson Pilot/ Raycom. The national CBS games are in HD, but WDBJ picks up ACC games through JP, so they may not send it in HD yet. They may have stepped up for the tournament.

The lineup (at least mine) now consists of ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, TNT, Discovery, ESPN, ESPN2, Discovery, HBO and Showtime all in HD. For some reason, like you said, ESPN, ESPN2 and Discovery aren't working yet. I was really wanting to watch some ESPN in HD. BTW, the ACC Tourney is being broadcast in HD on 707 (CBS). It's just not listed in the program guide.

I haven't paid anything extra, aside from my DVR fees. Any information would be appreciated. I told my dad about the free HD thing and he said he figured they'd throw it in free for a month or so then take it away to lure people into purchasing it.I was told by one of our local Comcast representatives that there isn't an HD package, that you need only rent the box to get the channels. This seems to be mostly true, as I get the networks, TNT and Discovery, but ESPN and ESPN2 seem to require a special subscription on my end. I don't subscribe to any movie channels, so I'm obviously not getting those in HD.
mrmacphisto wrote:Ok, sounds good to me. ESPN and ESPN2 may very well require a special subscription. They were in my channel list yesterday morning but were not coming in. Yesterday evening, they were gone when I scrolled through channels. I was really hoping to watch some baseball in HD. Guess I'm gonna have to call and find out how much I need to pay in order to get them. If it's like $5 I'll probably just bite the bullet...adam42381 wrote:Anybody know if they're gonna start charging us extra for the HD channels? adam42381 wrote:Called Comcast last night. Apparently ESPNHD and ESPN2HD are on their own separate HD package which costs $5 per month. I will probably just go ahead and get them. Thought I'd pass along the information for anyone who is interested. BTW, the number for Comcast escapes me but can be found by tuning to channel 772/773.Thanks for the info. BTW, their number is either 800-COMCAST or 888-COMCAST. I'm pretty sure I've seen both.

I'd imagine we'll see full HD in some locations but not others and as the tourney gets going we'll see HD in all cities b/c there will be fewer crews needed... But I'm not on staff at CBS and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Select last night. The strange thing was the CBS crew introduced the Duke game as being in High Definition while the HD logo was shown at the bottom of the court. Very odd for me. I found a new channel (to me anyway) MyNet on channel 180 which was broadcasting the CBS games in HD. I had never heard of this channel before. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MyNetworkTV

So HD did allow you to watch two games instead of just one if it was a blowout, and we had a few yesterday.
The poor guy didn’t make it very long. :)
