I was a Christie fan...but after New Jersey's bonds have been continuously downgraded under his leadership, not so much anymore.

Romney was a good bridge between both sides of the Party. Now the 'Establishment' wing has more or less consolidated their power in Bush. The Conservative /Tea Party / Libertarian side will continue in a disjointed fashion and most likely get beaten. This is the same scenario just about every election. They want to replace Boehner but can't get their act together and get behind one candidate. It will happen in the Presidential election. Scott Walker may be the only person left out there acceptable to bothe wings but he doesn't have the Cash Jeb does. Right now Jeb is the guy

Yeah because Mitt was so mean and vindictive
My comment was solely aimed at JBock. Mitt is a nice guy. I would never choose him to be president. I don't know who my #1 is for 2016... G.W. was my #1 going into 2000 and I remained a strong supporter during his presidency. The only thing I didn't like was his drunk spending at the end... Similar to Regan. I will say that September 11th changed the direction of his presidency. I think he wanted to get some things done with immigration and tax reform, which both took a back seat afterwards.

Having the most money doesn't always guarantee winning elections. The American people are fed up-the past two mid term elections should have been a clear message to the establishment. A Jeb nominee will guarantee a liberal win because he will not be able to count on the conservatives. The 2020 election will then be replay of the 1984 election for conservatives.

Bush, Cruz, Paul, and Walker are the four front runners right now and very slowly distancing themselves from the rest of the pack.

I don't know if that is true. Hillary has quite a bit of baggage of her own.

I'm still not convinced she is the nominee. Look for the breaking story of the CIA slamming her on Libya.

Money will be huge. Estimates are $2 billion will be needed by each candidate, right now only Jeb looks to have the ability to get that amount. He also can count on the 'Idealogical Purists' splitting their votes between Cruz Paul and Carson, again showing a glaring weakness which that side needs to correct to be taken seriously. IMO, they should put their chips on Paul because he is less divisive that Cruz and more experience than Carson. I like them all but the Establishment is playing to win and the 'Conservatives' are playing to make a point.

And please, can we close the book on Huckabee, Santorum, Palin and Gary Johnson?

What's wrong with Rubio? What about Jeb? Does the candidate have to be a Log Cabin republican?

Jeb doesn't excite the conservative base. Ask Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney, how that worked that out for them. Jeb is the complete establishment guy-he has no support from the conservative media. He's going to have to do some serious back pedaling with Common Core, which has been opposed by both Dems/Republicans. I give Mitt a lot of credit though what he said yesterday-we need a conservative in white house. I'm on the fence with immigration, but the majority of all republicans oppose it-Jeb is for it.

I agree with Haize on Hilary though. She will not be able to distance herself from the Benghazi/Libya issues and may not even run. But lately it seems like the typical American that gets their news from Yahoo and keeps up with Kardashians doesn't care about those things unless it directly affects them. Let them continue to lie in the bed they've made. Whoever gets in office regardless of the party, will have a lot on their plate and a lot to clean up.

How often have you seen a nominee win the way Regan (conservative) did. I think there were only 2 states that he didn't win in 1984-one being Minnesota and I can't remember the other one. The results speak for themselves.

I'm thinking Walker, or maybe Pence if he jumps in.

I would never vote for a Jeb Bush Republican. I'm done with them. Let's just have the Democrat as opposed to the Democrat-lite. And if you look at the last two elections, that appears to be America's philosophy as well. Romney wasn't going to lower your taxes.

And I'm not sure why everyone's attacking me for calling Romney a nice guy, I don't support him so what's the beef?

This is incorrect. I've shown you time and again where he was not going to raise personal income tax, yet you claim otherwise. He was going to get rid of Obamacare which is killing people (figuratively and literally) as a hidden tax and flattened the brackets more. I don't care that you don't support Mitt but at least have a factual reason for not liking him.
