So I guess I missed your answer to the problem. The problem again is how do you get rid of the numerous government social programs with our current system?
My answer is to give the people an alternative that isn't financed with tax dollars then cut government programs (bonus is that we are fulfilling part of our job as the church). While this would be incredibly hard it would be easier than getting politicians to cut the social programs with no alternative (talk about political suicide).
As far as I could tell your answer was this.
Also I’ll give you a mulligan on this one.
I’m assuming you’re trying to say that you don’t believe there is poverty in America today compared to somewhere like Haiti. If this is the case, I think you’re wrong, but I kind of understand what you’re trying to say. But if you keep in mind that I’m talking about cutting unemployment benefits, medicare, medicaid, food stamps, social security, etc. If that somehow happened overnight we’d have a poverty problem the church could help fill.

Once you give government power, it never goes awaySo do we just give up and don’t worry about funding the church to fulfill part of its original mission? You’re smarty then that give me a better answer. In the message board hypothetical world you get bonus points for originality (at least in my book).

A little off topic, but I dismiss the notion that there are many needy people out there.John 12:8 You will always have the poor among you…
