Conspiracy guy would say he did it on purpose and sought out those two things in order to further divide the country.

Saying he's tone deaf implies he just doesn't take those things into consideration.

He has got a nice fundraiser coming up in Dallas too. Before his fundraising dinner he will make a stop at Gateway Church to pander to evangelicals...I mean "attend a roundtable listening session" whatever that means.

Campaign rallies is his golden ticket so expect him to ramp it up big-time which will fire up his base and give us his most cringe worthy rants.

This has been the mantra of the Left since it was announced. If you believe Trump is a racist and going to announce the repeal of the voting act and civil rights act then yeah, probably not a good idea. But no one knows what he’s going to say. No one knows what if any type of tribute he’s going to pay to the Date or Town etc. But sure go ahead. Fly off the handle with Woke Rage and lament why we all can’t just get along  If he have ANY speech or rally he’d be criticized so the 19th is just a good a date as any. Probably more so because I wager he will try to address the issue.

Politicans pander. Trump is who this theead is about.

Biden is certianly doing his share of pandering. If you'd like you can start a Biden thread and we can go over how he panders to groups too.

Of course those groups he panders to tend to not be groups I'm really apart of so it bothers me more when people pander to Christians and we fall for it.

Let’s first establish that if he doesn’t the Woke Warrior Brigade is going to scream racism klan Putin and fine people. Those same people will shout the same thing and probably add insensitive and tone deaf for good measure
But as a Trump supporter I’d like to see him make his case, lay out his proposals and contrast it with Biden At least it give something concrete (ish) to latch on to and will for d opponents to go on record with what they are against

Eh, I think it is best he just doesn't say anything in a rally setting. He goes off script so much it'll end up doing more harm than good.

You are 100% correct that he will get criticized no matter what because that is what happens to any elected official.

If it was in a controlled setting then he would more than likely be able to communicate better but at a rally? He will go off script so fast and I iust don't think it'll help his cause at all.

I'm not claiming wokeness or racism or anything. I just think it's incredibly tone deaf to have your first rally after a multiple week protest sparred on by racial insensitivities on Juneteenth in the city that was home to the largest black massacre in American history. It would be tone deaf if Biden did it as well. Old white guys with their history simply shouldn't do that. It's similar to Jerry being tone deaf when he invited Trump to speak on MLK Day.

Malcom X had a better name. I believe it was "foxy white liberals".

Trump needs to go hard after black vote. I think he will.

You made my point. You think Trump is a racist. Therefore should not have a rally anywhere on the 19th let alone Tulsa.
There is no tone deafness in this. It’s his opponents manufacturing outrage.

They aren't manufacturing outage. They are taking real outrage and exploiting it. Subtle difference but it is a difference.

Being outraged that Trump is speaking on Juneteenth in Tulsa is absolutely manufacturing outrage. Especially when no one has any idea what he’s going to say or have on stage with him. At least let him do something before you get all “wee wee’d up” as a former President used to say

Sounds like a “hate me if I do, hate me if I don’t”. Trump just won’t win with some people.

White people should stop and listen. But if he goes to a “listening round table” at a church, he’s pandering.

Politicians are so very good at realizing there is a whole sector of people who will hate them no matter what they do. So they shrug it off and move on. I couldn’t do it. But it would be the very definition of inefficiency to try.

“He doesn’t even try to unite the country.” - Can’t say I blame him. The country is divided. In my opinion, there isn’t a man or woman alive who will unite it. Especially any politician! So why do we keep looking to politicians to do it?!

Ahhh ok. Fair enough. I was talking about some of outrage that has come out of things he has said and done recently in regards to racial issues. That outrage was very real.

I caught a little bit of the round table or whatever it was he had yesterday. I don’t know who the lady was to his left but I liked her. She just spoke her mind. Said things I’m positive Trump didn’t like but also pointed out the good things he did.

I really would like an answer to my last question if anyone feels so inclined.

Jon has touched on it. Why do we elevate politicians so?! Lord knows, their behavior doesn’t justify the pedestal on which they’re placed.

So we don’t have to take personal responsibility for our own actions and have someone to blame when we don’t get our way. It’s why I automatically discount about all Biblical to Government Jesus Jukes. From Universal Healthcare to Border Security playing the Bible card and playing the Politician card can abdicate us of our responsibility

You’re flat out wrong in this. I don’t think he is racist. I think he is a buffoon and doesn’t think through things. I also don’t think he has an ounce of empathy in his body.

Juneteenth is a big deal. For any white person - especially one given Trump or Biden’s past - to try and grandstand on that day is tone deaf and insensitive to an entire community of people.

I don’t see how any of those statements is anywhere near outrage.

As for “Especially when no one has any idea what he’s going to say or have on stage with him.” - we’ve had Trump around for four years. His track record doesn’t earn him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

“For any white person”
“Grandstanding”
“Given Trump or Biden’s past”

Sounds pretty outraged to me. Not sure what past it is you are referring to either. And again you have 0 idea what he’s going to say or who he’s going to bring on stage. Yet you are all Woke Raged. While saying you aren’t.
