Here's a question:
I assume you are all Christians.
What is the most important issue to you?
Is it the rights of the unborn? Because Newt doesn't believe life begins at conception. He supports federally-funded embryonic stem cell research.

Is it sanctity of marriage? Because Newt's on wife #3 (this is the one he was shagging while leading the charge against Clinton)

Are you repulsed by the corruption in Congress? Because he is the only speaker of the house to have been sanctioned by the ethics committee.

Is it because you want an unabashed conservative? Because this is a guy who sat next to Nancy Pelosi in a global warming ad for Al Gore, and who blasted Paul Ryan's budget plan.

Do you want someone who is compassionate to the poor? Someone of faith who did not rediscover it conveniently around the time when they decided to run for President?

Or is it that you don't want anyone with a (D) by their name in the Oval Office?

Private citizens can do more to stops the culture of abortion as birth control then any President can.

Looks like in VA any way it will be a Romney vs Paul primary. The lack of a good organization, among other things, is really hurting Newt.

I love how Newt is whining about the 11,000 signature requirment. The guy clearly has no leadership. The way you set up your campaign is AT LEAST to be able to designate state operations to a person who knows the rules and regulations of the state.

Newt didn't do that. All he had to do was to designate in each district, his supporters to get out and sign the petition to get him on the ballot.

Agreed. But even if they do it has eliminated Newt from my ballot. Being organized enough to know when filing deadlines are and their requirements is like a minimal expectation I would have of any candidate. It's like a job interview. If you know when and where to show up, then that's when you show up. Barring any unforeseen tragedy if you don't show up on time and in the right place it's apparent you don't want the job.

Agreed. Looks like Paul will be the only one able to battle Mitt after S Carolina. He doesn't have the cash but is a master at guerilla campaigning.
Huntsman, Santorum and Bachman will be after Iowa or New Hampshire at the latest.
Newt may last through Florida but then his lack of organization and money will catch up.
Perry has the money but it just seems his heart isn't in it any longer and is looking to jump out as quickly and gracefully and head back to Texas

I chose Mitt, simply because I feel he has the best shot at beating Obama. He will bring in the independent votes. That's the key to the election.

Im not a big politics person but I did talk to my mom about the Republican candidates and she actually had some eye opening things to say to me about Ron Paul that actually would make me less interested in voting for him (and for the record she actually isnt a fan of ANY of the Republican candidates...the way she put it talking to me, she dislikes Newt the least of the lot of them)

I'm fairly certain Kings philandering is about as well kept a secret as JFK's. Why this poses a problem for Paul is that his name is on those letters. Auto pen or not, what those letters say are pretty awful. You take those letters, his voting record and his public statements, it makes for a nasty recipe for disaster.

In my view, the independents are mostly moderates/pragmatists (like me) who are fed up with both parties. Your opinion seems to be very misinformed and misguided. Romney is definitely a moderate, but that does not make him Obama lite. He has proven an ability to work across party lines (Mass's legislature was 85% Democratic when he was governor) and get things done. He has also had success in business, and I have no problems voting for him.

Here's my one post on ron Paul and why I would have reservations voting for him. One thing that I always remember Dr Falwell saying when it came to election time: Vote Christian. Its great that he is pro-life and pro-family. Where is his faith? Im not going to assume he isnt a Christian, but as someone who Im sure knows the importance of Conservative Christians, hasnt from what I can see said anything about his faith...as I mentioned, I was talking to my mom yesterday and she mentioned that he is more of a "humanist" and as a Christian, it doesnt sit well with me to vote for a candidate who doesnt acknowledge responsibility to a "higher power" (God or whoever).

We need a president, not a preacher. Not voting for someone because he isn't a Christian and/or voting for someone simply because they claim to be one is absolutely idiotic and I'd like to punch you for it.

I have more respect for someone who isn't a Christian and doesn't claim to be than someone who claims to be just to get votes (i.e. 90% of "Christian" politicians).
