LUconn wrote:I think the big question is: DO YOU CHARGE FRACTIONS OF A CENT?!? I've never understood how Sweet Frog or gas stations for that matter can legally charge 9 tenths of a penny.
They charge that because it's better than saying 40 cents per ounce. We charge a flat 39 cents per AND we are the only ones, that I know, remove the weight of the cup from the final amount. We also will give you your yogurt for free if you hit 11.0 exactly :)

We are evaluating price right now also. We will not go up, but could go down in the near future once we gauge our true bottom line expenses.
Purple Penguin removes the weight of the cup also :)

The 9/10 thing is ridiculous. I can't believe they do that.

Good luck with the biz proto, I'll check it out this week when I head up there!
Have heard great things about you guys too... We need to grab some yogurt sometime ;)

It's gotta be a trend. My wife took Entrepreneurship through LUOnline last semester and a guy in her group was doing his business plan on opening a Moonberries yogurt shop.

Did you guys see that a yogurt place is opening in the mall? It's going to be in the small corner shop near the new theatre. I am sure it will not be as good as Bloop. :D

I've been eating frozen yogurt for months (okay years, if you count TCBY), but I finally found out how ADDICTING it is, thanks to Proto's Bloop: I put crunched up Reece Cups on some peanut butter yogurt. Oh my gosh! D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!!

The one going in the mall is the same one that is in boonsboro by mi patron. It will be froyo with coffee as well. They focus on some locally made coffee or something, the girl who works there was telling me all about it a few weeks ago. I haven't tried their coffee yet, but I love starbucks and have never found anything I liked better

I don't think they'll challenge bloop much, who actually goes to the mall?

I am familiar with Moonberries.. was the guy located in NC?

The contractor that builds all of them in the area was in my shop the other day brown-nosing trying to get the contract on the next PP

It's all about the power of the purse, and as has been proven recently, women control the purse these days :)

My wife loves it because she hears the word 'yogurt' and automatically concludes that it's a healthier alternative to ice cream. I too have noticed all the yogurt shops recently. I think it has to do more with the students willingness to find a good snack/hangout to use their Financial Aid Disbursements on though

We tried to go to the "Yogurt Yetti" last Saturday when it was below freezing at night, and to our surprise the place was packed. So much in fact that we left. So apparently they are making their money regardless of fads or weather.

I patronized BLOOP today ( then later had to ritualistically cleanse the yuppie from me). The old man who came in afterwards was terrible confused as to how it worked, so I showed him!
I really was hoping I could get a T-Shirt that said something like ' Have you BLOOPED today". Or 'I'm a BLOOPER". Or a bunch of others. I don't have a point of reference from which to gauge so will say it was nice. But the kids n front of my spooning candy into their hands was a bit off putting. Also, black jelly beans do not work with chocolate yogurt!

Love your bright orange spoons! They are so RETRO: it's like stepping back into the '70s.
