surprised that he would cut a propane line or surprised that he would post an address. Because it doesn't mention anything about him being investigated. It mentions that they're investigating the line getting cut. Do you guys really think he's the guy who cut it? Seems very unlikely.
#303738
I just wish he had gotten the address right. However, I do applaud the effort and the thoughts behind posting the address. I fully support the public posting of the correct home address for Congressman Periello.

HOWEVER, I do know for a fact that he would not engage in the destruction of personal property.
#303744
Are we sure that it's the wrong address? He still seems to think that it's right. And it would make a lot of sense for the Pariello camp to make up some sob story about children being there.
#303750
It's public info and he's a public figure....they are doing an amazing job spinning this into a way where he's the victim

I am all for protesting whatever you want to protest. I'm from Asheville, which is to to say that I've dealt with plenty of misguided protesters. Encouraging protest at someone's home would be fine, assuming it wasn't conducted on private land. I think it is pretty dumb to make that assumption for protesters of an incendiary issue. I mean, maybe matshark can make use of his mixed martial arts skills to control a mob, but I'm doubting it. The whole idea sounds like a good way to get a brick through a window.

I doubt if matshark encouraged property damage, but it certainly wasn't the wisest course, especially if this turns out to be a malicious act.

Blessed are the rabble-rousers, for they will be called the sons of God :?

Matshark did his research, and according to a story that just aired on WSET, he used white pages and election filings to post that address.

Could Tom Periello have put down a false address when he filed to run for Congress????

though the premise of the tea party movement is good, the militant behavior and racial comments in other parts of the country tied to the tea party movement is unacceptable. i have zero problem with protests but it needs to be done the right way.

We don't know if much of this actually happened aside from the congressperson saying that it did. At this point, I wouldn't take a congressman's word as fact even if he were just describing what he had for breakfast this morning.

Question about this whole SCOTUS deeming something unconstitutional. If one of the lawsuits does actually make it to the SCOTUS, and they rule that the taxation of an individual for existing is unconstitutional (or another angle) will they toss the whole bill or will they just erase that single aspect of the bill. If it's the latter, I think that could be an even worse result.

Someone please explain to me why Barry is campaigning for the hellth care bill after it has already been signed into law. It doesn't matter if we like it or not, we've got it! (60-65% of us don't like it, by the way, but that didn't seem to bother these dummies last weekend.)

If the court rules the individual mandate of the bill is unconstitutional, the whole bill is thrown out.

because he fully understands those numbers of 60-65% and understands come Nov he's really going to be in for it so he's trying to set his party up with some what of a chance....they dont have a chance but he's trying to give them a punchers chance (not to be confused with the punchers chance that SEIU is using...dont know about SEIU please google them)

Just saw on the news this morning that the judge who presided over Michael Vick's trial is going to preside over Ken Cuccinelli's case against the law.

Here's a really good summary of the bill being considered:
http://www.towerswatson.com/united-states/research/1424

Thought these were interesting tidbits:
2011
Immediate reforms — Beginning with the 2011 plan year (for calendar year plans) employer group health plans:

Must offer coverage to adult children up to age 26 (regardless of whether they qualify as the employee’s tax dependent) who are not eligible for coverage under another employer’s health plan; the coverage would not be taxable to the employee or dependent and, beginning in 2014, the requirement that the nondependent child must not be eligible for coverage under another employer’s plan would no longer apply
26?!?!? Are you serious?
Form W-2 reporting — Beginning with the Form W-2 form covering the year 2011, employers will be required to disclose the value of each employee’s health coverage on the employee’s annual Form W-2 that is filed with the IRS.
Does this mean my taxable income will go up based on the value of my medical coverage? That sucks.

They also seem to be taking a hammer to flexible spending accounts for some reason.

Being considered meaning, it still has to be reconciled by the Senate, which I think it was yesterday, and then Obama has to sign it again to approve the changes.

I have no problem with the age of 26, but think they should qualify as a dependent. I also hope that does not mean my taxable income increases b/c my employer covers my health insurance b/c that would add a ton of money that I am not personally getting to my paycheck.

Are you kidding? By 26, one needs to grow wings and fly. There is no reason to stay on the nipple (physically, figuratively, hypothetically, or for government classification purposes).

Absolutely, it will.

If anyone thinks this bill was about health care or benefiting the citizens of our country, you're nuts. Any good point that was made in reference to this bill is all smoke and mirrors. I have tried to read through the bill on three different occasions and it makes me sick.
