they really don't have much of a policy any more. as long as its not cussing then you usually don't hear boo.

i had to take down my smashing pumpkins poster but i was allowed to leave my System of a Down and Ted Nugent posters up.... :?

and el scorcho...your dislike for a band because of all the EV wannabes is acceptable. He has a spectacular voice and they were a musically sound band. creed and all the other cookie cutter bands did destroy the raspy voice thing...

on the subject of creed....has there ever been a more dispised band by people who like actual good music? i also enjoyed hearing their crap blaring out of 25% of the dorm rooms as you walked back to your room...

That's funny, because Vedder's voice is basically a Ray Charles' impression who, in turn, imitated Leadbelly.

Leadbelly was of course imitating "The Little Giant" Steven Douglas' voice from recordings of the Lincoln-Douglas debates. Guess which one of these is made-up.

I believe (fervently HOPE) that was originally intended as sarcasm

Well, she called them her Rock Music tapes!! I mean she was a bad lady on the court, and could SERIOUSLY HOOP (ASK SCAR) I still never figured out how/why she was trying to get pumped up for a big came by listening to "I'm All Out Of Love" etc. Meanwhile, I am smashing lockers listening to "Search and Destroy' and "Am I evil" My how opposites attract!!

"Search and Destroy" ... you are truly old school. Since you are of the same vintage as I am, do I know you? Scar can hook you up with my identity.

Good pick up on that one. It was the mass chanting of Ssseeeaaarrrrcccchhhiiiinngggg, at the concerts that have warped my thinking!
As for me Sly Fox - My collegiate career did NOT transpire here at the worlds most exciting university. But the years spaned from 88 - 92, so yes I am an old fart!

There is now a retro Pewcast up and available for download. Deliverance, Tourniquet, Holy Soldier, Guardian, Neon Cross and Messiah Prophet. I'm hoping to track down some other bands to do this again in the near future -- maybe Whitecross, Bloodgood, etc.

Dude, it'd be like fighting a midget. I could put my hand on your forehead and you'd just swing your arms at the air.

When you click the link, there will be a "Download MP3, 35:17min 32.3MB" link. If you click that, it will either play the MP3 or download it (to be sure it downloads, right click and select 'Save Link As'). OR, if you don't want to download it at all, just hit the play button on the player that's embedded on the site (right below the link I just told you about).

If you've got iTunes, search the 'Podcast' area in the Music Store for "View From the Pew." Mine is there, and you can subscribe in iTunes for free.

Podcasting works the same way as blogging -- the subscription just includes a link to a media file (either audio or video) that the "podcatcher" will play (or at least download). By subscribing, you automatically get the show every time I update it.

I got it smart a.... 8)

we dont' have I-tunes but we use Napster. Due mainly to the fact that we don't have IPods, we have Samsung YP-Z5 (identical to the Nano but w/ bigger screen)

assume I can still download into Win Media and sync it over but haven't tried

Yep, you can.

You might also look at Juice, which will let you subscribe to podcasts and download them automatically. It will sync up with Media Player just fine (it's what I used to use, but since iTunes integrated everything, I like it a bit better. And I've got a Nano, so no compatability problems there). Or you can try Pod Spider, which works a lot like iTunes but recognizes non-Apple MP3 players. Assuming you want to listen to podcasts, that is ...

To prove I have WAY too much down time..... After spending the last couple of weeks reliving my youth by jamming to my iPod, (I am NOT a poser like some medical personnel on this board, I have the REAL stuff!!) I have come up with two lists of my favorite Resurrection Band songs. One list is their "jams" and the other is their "mellow" tunes. They have such a large number of songs, it was the only way I thought I could give a good sample

Jams:
1. Gameroom - Bootleg
2. Love Comes Down - Between Heaven and Hell
3. Babylon - DMZ
4. First Degree Apathy - Mommy Don't Love Daddy Anymore
5. White Noise - DMZ
6. Silence Screams - Silence Screams
7. Defective Youth - Hostage
8. Child of the Blues - Innocent Blood
9. Military Man - DMZ
10. Waves - Awaiting Your Reply

Mellow:
1. The Chair - Mommy Don't Love Daddy Anymore
2. Shadows - Between Heaven and Hell
3. Everytime It Rains - Rainbows End
4. Broken Promises - Awaiting Your Reply
5. The Crossing - Mommy Don't Love Daddy Anymore
6. The Struggle - Colours
7. In Change - Lament
8. Colours - Colours
9. The Return - Awaiting Your Reply
10. No Alibi - DMZ

I still believe that Glenn has THE GREATEST rock and blues voice of all time, "Secular" or "Christian". Wendy, well there are about 3 good songs (Beggar in the Alleyway, First Degree Apathy, and White Noise) outside of that................her tamborine playing is very good.
Any additons/subtractions? Other groups?

Love Comes Down is one of my allt-time favoes from any genre.

Glenn had a phenomenal voice while Wendy wasn't very good IMHO. I wish he had sang all their stuff. But I have to give Sammy Hagar the nod in all-time greatest voices for that style. Just my personal preference.

I don't know SLY. Glenn has such more range with his voice then Hagar does. Look at the way he can rip out the blues and "slower" songs. Sammy is really good at the high heavy fast stuff, but would struggle with the anything else.
Wendy, just struggles
