Trying to steer things back on target ... Here in Texas it is referred to as soda or simply a Coke (even if it is a Pepsi or Sprite).

When I lived in Illinois they used to call it sodie pop. I'm dead serious ... Sodie pop.

And my dad is a bigtime Vernors fan as well, fumbles.

That stuff tingles, so you know it's good. They've done studies, you know. Sixty percent of the time, it works every time.

I'm more into the "indie" (I use the term loosely) rock vibe right now. Some of my favorite bands right now are Kings of Leon, Black Keys, White Stripes, etc. I really hope they re-open Ziggy's, that would be great.
Oasis' Dig Out Your Soul has a White Stripes vibe on some of the songs. They've got it up on the myspace page, it's pretty good.

Now back on-topic!

Some of the best sodas are made by the smaller independant producers. We had one down the road from us growing up, I can't remember the name (maybe Hosmer's Mountain or something like that), but you'd go in their store and there were tons of flavors, all in glass bottles. Much like Jones, which has managed to take theirs mainstream.
