What were we thinking are far as the color of the shirt? Red, since that's what they ask you to wear to games, or perhaps navy just to be different? Stick with school colors? I agree that a nice shirt can be done using one color graphics. Some of the designs that look cool on the web, wouldn't transfer good to t-shirts and as Tally has said, the cost factor.

IMO proto should try "alternate" color schemes for their logo in addition to the official logo colors and they could sell more merchandise (kind of like all of the hats that have NY Yankees logo in camo, Red Sox logo in different colors etc.--so they can sell more merchandise.) I like the color scheme in the Tally design, and I think the American Flag filler would look good as a variation.)

I spoke with the owner of a local business in the mall, and he said that he has plans to start selling LU merchandise, shirts, car flags, magnets, and all sorts of other stuff.. I will keep you posted as this gets closer to being available in his store... He said that feels that LU football will not be a joke here in the next year or two...

I like the "Better than actually working" line.

That's the kind of thing that would draw curiosity and creat a cult following...

The "b/c we have the time" is the negative take of the same idea... My vote is for SJ's "better than working" line. It can be varied to "Better than Studying" or "Better than GNED" or "Better than CLST", etc. for other shirts. Be known as the "better than..." site.

Hey GMTM, any possibility we talk him into getting some time on 90.9?

I like where you guys are going with this concept. SJ is on to something with the catchphrases,

I think we really need a logo of some type incorporating 'FlameFans' (we really don't necessarily need .com in the logo). That way we can build banner & shirt designs off a central theme (a la Proto's fiery eagle).

"I Met My Wife At FlameFans.com"

Sorry, that's a play on the "I came to Liberty and met my spouse" thing on facebook.

Man- take a day off and look what I miss!

My opinions- since no one asked

1. DEFINITELY stay away from the official logo
2. SJ is a creative genious (that explains the temperment)
3. Like the "beter than working"
4. I'm partial to "Impact" font, size 36, use the schools' official red (I forget the number but LUconn knows what it is) and expand the spacing by a point. For dark backgrounds use a white outline.

Idea:

The shield is taken from the Chicago fire, but with a slight mod on the colors and edges, the shield is a universal symbol.

I figured you'd like that. Here's a solo of the middle part.

Any muppets fans here? I think that Sam Eagle should be flamefans official mascot and therfore on the shirt.

I think we should definitely have the ".com" on the shirt because that would cause alot more people to check us out.

I want to be able to come to a census by the end of the school year in this matter so we can get them pumped out to take to our local communities for the summer.

to keep this ball rolling... in regards to the T-shirt first things first. lets start out with a logo. not like a picture but it either has to be an outlined image or a silouette, basically a logo that we can put on a shirt that only has to have 1 color. Something like the Foghornlegeagle picture. Kinda clipart-like but cooler. Suggestions?

examples:

You could put a slogan in the red block area. Hard to find a good flame logo though.

Maybe not your main logo, but a shirt possibility for more merch...simple, could be made all one color (could remove the script at top.) Could also use a Hazmat graphic and put the icons in it as another variation...
