That's priceless. It was a guest speaker, yesterday (as most of the monthly faculty convos are).

when i was a kid, our parents didn't have to go with us...i'd have to take my brothers, then i came home and dressed up again and went "trick or treating" with my friends....

These people suck. What the freak is so hard about giving some candy to kids 1 day a year? We went to a house last night where I saw the woman inside look at me with some kids coming to the door and I watched her put the blinds down and turn out all the lights. I rang the doorbell anyway and sat there for a bit. After we started walking away I heard the door lock. We should deport these crotchety people to France or something. Just buy some freaking candy and give it to cute children!

Some dude sent an email in to the Morningline (on WLNI) this morning complaining that he spent $100 on candy and was tapped out by 7:45. Apparently Wyndhurst is the destination for the trick or treaters, whether they live there or not.

On a completely related note... November 1 = one of the top 5 worst days of the year for teachers. I usually grab a roll of duct tape to keep the sugared up kids in their seats.
I concur-shouldn't they make November 1st a holiday for all school aged children. This day is a waste from beginning (coming down off a sugar high) to end (re-sugared thanks to candy at snack and lunch!)

I actually completely forgot about Halloween. No lie. I didn't buy any candy for the kids, etc, so I just left my front porch light off. I didn't have a single person come to the door. I felt like a jerk while all the kids were outside, but I just completely forgot about the whole holiday.
