I thought the Fireworks were set for Sunday.

BTW, is the monogram/gazebo accessible by car, or is there hiking involved?

14. We could go walkin' through a windy park;
15. Take a drive along the beach;
16. Or stay at home and watch TV;
17. You see it really doesn't matter much to me

My favorite low budget date with my wife is a drive to Lexington to go to their double feature Hull's Drive In @ $5 per car. They have the speakers that you attach to your car window, or you can bring lawn chairs and sit outside. And, yes, they do have an old fashioned concessions stand, too. It's like stepping back into the 1960s. http://www.hullsdrivein.com/

My wife and I haven't had a date night since our son was born. It's the price you pay for living in a city with no family and few friends.

I haven't seen a movie in a theater since July of '06.

It's a good thing my kid goes to bed at 7pm.

I believe my husband is planning a date night for Saturday. At this point we could watch each other chew just as long as I am away from the kids without having to do work!

I second that emotion.

nice when they're away for the weekend, though you feel a bit guilty for saying that. :oops:

That's too bad. :(
I don't visit the Bald Spot anymore for that same reason. And it's not because I'm lazy.

Any cool overlooks in town that don't require too much aerobic or cardio-type activity? I haven't found any.

Parking??? As tall as Mrs Purple and I are, there are practical considerations involved that would preclude that type of activity unless it is a Hummer!
Our date nites consist of attending a basketball game in the winter or watching one on TV.
We also go shopping at Wal Mart for groceries or some other store for things we NEED. It takes a long time and let's us hang out. I know MR AND MRS Excitment
As for life after kids, we just let the Purple Puppies outside and have the place to ourselves!

So anyway, there is only one scenic place you can drive to and LUPD drives by there like every 30 minutes to clear you parkers out of there. Sometimes the gate is open at the bottom of the baldspot road. I've been tempted to drive up there, but I assume it's open because somebody of authority is already up there and I'd get in trouble. Plus it would be horrible to not get in trouble and make your way down and find the gate has been locked while your vehicle is still on the other side.
