I'll add that the vast majority of people who talk trash about Macs are Windows people.

On the other hand, you hear Windows people complaining about Windows all the time.

With that said, I believe that while Apple has the best software hands down, my personal experience with their computers has been less than optimal. They work great when they work.

BTW, I've had a 40GB iPod Photo since 2004, and never had a problem.

most windows users with brains realize that Macs are so much better then PC's...

What most PC users get annoyed with is how a lot of Mac people go on and on about how great Macs are and we all should covert....its gets annoying....

I don't even know what I'd do with an 8-core machine. :) My Core Duo MacBook Pro is still doing just fine for me. 2 is all I need...for now. ;)

One of my cousins (why couldn't some of the genius slide down my branch of the tree) led the design team for the fastest chip in the world that was unveiled back in January by Intel:
Intel Builds the Fastest Chip Ever
Capable of processing 1 trillion calculations a second, Intel's latest test chip, when used commercially, will revolutionize computing

by Cliff Edwards
Technology

Computing took a leap forward when chipmakers started putting more than one core—or central brain—on a single chip. It was a way to make machines work harder even as they consumed less power. Just wait until a single chip can sport 80 cores.

I read about that chip back then. Very impressive.

The new 8-core Mac is using an Intel chip that isn't available to other manufacturers or the public yet. It's a beast.

My cousin was one of the lead designers for IBM before moving over to Intel. According to him they are working on something that will blow this most recent product away. The capabilities of chips is exploding right now at an exponential rate.

That's B.S., plain and simple. Apple prides itself on usability but it has nothing to do with me or any other Mac user being a retard. Apple's goal is to provide a computer that anyone can use, for anything they'd like to use it for. That's why Macs are the #1 choice among software developers right now. Just because you want your computer to be easy to use, doesn't make you a retard. It simply means you want to spend more time working and less time figuring out how to make the computer do what you want.

I've been a professional systems administrator for over five years, and I'm a Mac user. I'm part of Apple's user base. If their entire user base is built around people who can't turn on computers, then how do you explain me and all of the people I know who are just like me?

Just because geico.com is so easy a caveman could use it doesn't mean smart people can't use it too.

I do realize it, but for those who may be swayed one way or another, I had to post an honest response. I know, I know. Don't feed the trolls. It's a habit of mine that's hard to break.
