This had everthing thing to do with politics. Mike Jones said so much, and I can't blame him. Haggard was living a lie and I'm sure he would agree and is glad to finally be caught.

Those articles were written while Jack was very much alive back in the Late '80s. He denied everything even though there is a mountain of evidence otherwise. Trust me when I say I have a great deal of information on this subject. Jack's indescretions weren't homosexual in nature. But they were very grievous nonetheless. And then there was his loose use of Scripture and prayers to his mother. But that's a whole other story.

As for Haggard, I grieve for his family. Imagine the humiliation they are enduring right now.

Funny how everyone jumps on the "sexual immorality" yet this Meth use thing sort gets left behind. Is the "sin" of homosexuality so eggregious that use of an addictive, physically destructive chemical pales in its light? It is unfortunate that poeple are not looking into what the real "problem" is. That was a life of deception. As the leader of a church, you ARE held to a higher standard, and you need to have a more "pure" life. But when this becomes too much or your life dictates you can not hold your self to those parameters, you should step down. Obviously, I don't care who/what he sleeps with, i dont care even that he uses Meth. What bothers me the most is the fact he can't come clean until he is exposed (NOT BEING CRASS SLY). I have sooooooo much more respect when I see stories of religious leaders stepping down b/c THEY realize they can not meet expectations and seek help. Had he stepped down and not been OUTED and then gone to drug rehab? No problem I hope that he re habs from his drug problems and goes through whatever hoops the Assembly of God has for him and he returns to the pulpit. Or if he even realizes that he is not the heterosexual family man he portrays himself as I am sure there are still pulpits for him to preach from.

Now say what you want about Bill O'Reilly, but he brings up a good point.

Ted Haggard was skewered for having secret gay sex with someone else. It was everywhere in the mainstream media (and rightfully so, it was a huge story). After all, he was a prominent evangelical caught in a dirty act.

But shouldn't there be equal outrage (or at the very least, any outrage) when someone like the Virginia President of the American Civil Liberties Union gets caught with child pornography? Why isn't anyone covering that?

What's worse, Haggard taking drugs and having consensual gay sex (which is really bad) or this:

"Tierney [the former president of the VA ACLU] apparently told the feds that he paid for the child porn using a Paypal account and then downloaded images of prepubescent girls being violently raped onto CD-Rom disks, which the authorities seized in his home. One of the images Tierney was in possession of showed a little girl tied up and screaming while being violently raped."

Says O'Reilly:

"The truth is the committed left press in America is no longer interested in reporting the news. Anything that hinders a favorable view of the far left will be ignored; anything that advances liberal causes will be celebrated. I had not even heard this story until now which is ashame...child porn is a terrible thing and anybody involved with it should get their testicles cut off....what the pastor did was bad...but at least he wasn't messing with kids....

Actually I heard about this and thought it should be a high profile story, especially since the guy worked for the ACLU and I think one of his jobs was to defend the disgusting NAMBLA group.

That said, he was no longer working for the ACLU so I guess thats one of the reasons it didn't get more play. He was also a youth sports coach in NoVA and in the Wash Post and other local news outlets they played up the Youth Sports angle much more than the fact that he worked for the ACLU.

My point exactly. In the "Brokeback Pantheon of Sin" they would rate the following:

1. Child Pornography. Plain sick.
2. Drug use.
1983746. Consensual Gay sex.

Yet, it is gay sex that makes the headlines. What the pastor did on his own time was with someone else OF AGE. The drugs could have caused MUCH more damage. And the kiddie porn? Did I mention sick? I hope we see that guy on one of the "To catch a predator": segments on NBC. Those things are the BEST!!! Although I did hear that when LU buys RDL, they are gonna do the same thing but call it "To Catch A Gay Person"! I jest, I jest. (I hope)
