To be fair, there were multiple posts before ATrain's that mentioned people signing up with their spouses. He was just mentioning the effect this would have on his situation.
We always want to be fair.

does he? I honestly haven't even noticed. I know he's gay, but it seems to me that others bring it up more then he does. I guess I could be wrong, but I haven't noticed him being in your face about it.

Thank you.

Generally speaking, it gets brought up by others before I say anything. This thread was an exception, and it was me talking about my own specific situation. Heck, this is the first time I've mentioned on this board that I'm engaged. Have been since July, just an FYI...

Yes, let's all congratulate him on offending God and making a mockery of His word. Big thumbs up.

It amazes me sometimes what is said on a message board for former and current Liberty students.

Thank you. Please tell PURPLE that SMOOTH needs comforting.

ALUmnus, congrats on your new position as God's spokesperson. I'm sure you'll do a great job writing the press release with the headline "Jonathan and David's marriage causes hurricane in Virginia Beach."

With that said, peace out folks

Well, back on topic, I havent looked at the federal at all. I know in Massachusetts, it was an arm and a leg to be on regular health care, I was paying $700 a month for just myself while my wife and son stayed on her dad's insurance, through his work, because it cost him nothing and she was eligible. This year, she quit working, and our total pay fell to below the max salary by $40, and we qualified for state subsidized. Now I pay $81 for all three of us, and its better coverage than what I was paying for.

A) It's extremely nice to have an extra $600 each month, but
B) it's ridiculous that thats the max I can pay. I have no problem paying more for insurance, but at a reasonable price, and
C) its ridiculous that technically, for all three of us to be on one plan, we'd have to pay about $1500 a month for the bronze package (lowest of the low coverage, not sure if other states use the same terminology). But even more ridiculous,
D) that if I made just $41 more over the entire YEAR, I would have to pay an extra $1419 a month for worse coverage. I honestly told my church to not give me a raise because of how much it would have screwed me. Make $41 more this year, I'd have to pay $17,028 for the year for worse coverage. But, someone has to pay for all of the subsidized plans.

and congrats to you on being a judgemental DB

it amazes me that there are still believers out there that have convinced themselves that their own interpretation MUST be the correct one

ESPECIALLY if King James sanctioned it 400 yrs ago.

though maybe you ARE that smart. would you mind handling my taxes and investment portfolio?

on second thought, no don't. the rest of us commoners will somehow muddle on.

That's not the issue. ATrain and I both are convinced that our interpretation's are "correct." The issue is extending grace to others. I can be friends with those who believe and act differently than myself.

As a side note: It seems that for some, the best way to win someone over to their way of thinking on ANY issue is to demean, marginalize, and call them names.

So homosexual marriage is okay according to the Bible? Any Bible? This is what amazes me. And by no means was anything I said judgemental, and by your standards, what you replied with was equally judgemental.

Also, interpretation is not an issue. If anyone who brings that up actually read Scripture, it's glaringly obvious.

And do I have to be the Pope to have the authority to talk about Scripture? Or is that maybe something that all Christians should be able to do?

BlueDevilFlame, that's sad that you couldn't have said it better. You might want to work on that.

Back on topic. Pres. Obama's approval rating is at 37%. The NYT ran a piece about his administration being the most closed and paranoid in modern times. Surpassing even Nixon. I wonder if 1 or 2 MSM organizations will finally pivot away from giving him the benefit of the doubt and focusing on WHY he closed the memorials and Ocean. On WHY he ordered the Pentagon not to pay for the families of fallen soldiers. WHY won't he delay for individuals what he delayed for Corporations especially in light of the cluster the ACA roll out has been.
All these discussions are being had because 1 guy stood up and fought a battle no one thought he could win

The whole debate on homosexuality/homosexual marriage can be found here:

https://www.flamefans.com/forums/viewto ... ne#p261612

Leave it to ALUmnus and LUConn to make an issue of it in every thread where I mention something about my life that may just happen to involve my partner/my fiance or being gay. Every other person with a significant other or heterosexual attraction on this board has done it from time to time, yet I have never (nor has anyone else) accused anyone of throwing heterosexuality all over the place.

And yes, we are hoping my fiance gets back pay from this mess. I think the House has approved a measure, and the Senate looks like its going to go along with it. If this continues past October, I may end up being furloughed as well. And I agree with PH!!!

I'll post in the other thread linked here but I completely expect nobody to go over there and discuss further. I will say that, I know that we all love medic, but he's probably not at the top of the list of people on this board that I would seek biblical world view opinions from.
