OK, as penance for helping boot this thread down that rabbit trail, here's my feelings on immigration reform:

Secure the borders! 1st and foremost this has to be done. As for all those already here, I wish there was a way to weed out the bad ones, but then our FBI, et al can't keep track of a single suspicious character (the older brother bomber). I don't see how they could possibly effectively sort through 11 million +. Not sure what could be done with all them. I want to say err on the side of caution and deport them all, but most likely you would not be able to find the ones we would most want to get rid of. Lousy situation we're in with no easy answers.

How you you pay for securing the border? Surely you guys are not for raising taxes. And don't give me some generically vague answer like cutting pork or making things more efficient.

Why not? They can find the money in their current revenues if they so desired

Start by redirecting a lot of our military efforts into our homeland.
