How about espn having a tape of that recorded conversation since 2002? They hammered Penn St. people for not coming forward with information. I realize the circumstances are a bit different, but still.

And Boeheim getting fired for what he said is just stupid.

I agree with the bolded part but in the Joe Paterno era, there are going to be plenty that want him out if all of this turns out to be true.

The biggest difference between the two is that JoePa said he wished he would have done more to stop it--implying that he knew what was going on, while Boeheim has maintained ignorance to the whole thing.

I'm not saying Boeheim did know what Bernie Fine was doing, but I just find it hard to believe that he doesn't know something is going on (or at least have suspicion) with Bernie and potentially three boys when they are supposed to be very close friends from their days in college. It's just not normal at all for a guy to be hanging around and traveling all the time with young boys who aren't his biological or adopted children or even close nephews. Not even CASA case workers are around children as often as he apparently was...
