Paterno doesnt need to be ousted, nor should his legacy be tarnished.Sure he didn't do anything legally wrong. However, ethically he completely failed by ethically doing the bare minimum, which is whatever the law requires. He had a moral obligation to ensure the police were notified of what happened and he clearly failed to do that. His inaction led to this man running free for at least nine years and potentially at least 13, I find it hard to believe that he didn't know that his defensive coordinator wasn't under police investigation in 1998...

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Fox 29 has learned the number of child-abuse in the Penn State sex-abuse scandal involving ex-coach Jerry Sandusky has more than doubled in the past day, and is closer to 20 victims.http://www.myfoxphilly.com/dpp/sports/l ... um=twitter
BJWilliams wrote:That is worth noting...but you do know that if his name comes up that there will be some major cha-ching going on in the AD's office...especially if we go to the playoffs in a few weeksBJ - this is not a Rocco thread, but I don't think Rocco is getting anymore money from Liberty. That is a game you cannot playing every year. He's already the highest paid person at Liberty, by far and is he really worth that much? There are many GREAT coaches that would want the Liberty job - don't kid yourself. With this team - we should be sitting with one loss and top 5 - maybe undefeated...

Sly Fox wrote:Please. Every single kid who has ever known Mr. Touchy is being grilled by his parents as we speak. You don't think they could be pressured into a more aggressive story? You certainly have your mind made up about this guy. He hasn't even been convicted yet. I'll let the court process play out before I rip him on a public forum, and I suggest you all show some maturity and do the same.Schfourteenteen wrote:Oh yeah, because these guys have so much to gain by telling the world that a creepy old man raped them.
Of course it has. They sent out an invitation for kids to embellish stories into sexual assault.

I gave up several years ago on watching anything else they put out over the airwaves.
Sch14 is right to a certain extent. What about the herman cain thing? Women are popping up all over the place. Not that they would ever have any reason to lie right? (and of course they would, to get money).
I don't doubt the events did happen with Sandusky. But why must ESPEEN trumpet it up to call for Joe Pa's head?
Oh that's right. So you'll be outraged. So you'll keep watching.
That's all I've got to say about this.
Sly Fox wrote:It sounds like you'd fit in well in the Penn State athletic department.Or maybe I know of a situation very similar to this where details were lost in the finger pointing. One where a man's occupation, relationships and life were completely ruined because a family falsely accused a man of this stuff. Acquittals mean nothing in the court of public opinion.
