I can't speak for how things are now but the only thing not played during the day would be harder music. There was not limitations on rap music or any other rock music. I am sure that is the same way things are now but with different people coming in and out so often things can change quickly.

It took a lot of work to get a variety of music and maybe the ones running the music dept aren't able to put in the amount of work needed to really research what Christian music is out there. I spent hours daily listening to music and trying to find the best balance of rap/hiphop, pop, r&b and rock. Its not an easy task because there is so much out there.

With the said it saddens me to hear that people aren't very happy with the music content. I put a lot of work into making it a station that had a little bit for everyone but still had that college radio feel. Its almost like that work was pointless if it wasn't going to be kept up.

Oh well, it is what it is...

First of all, nobody lives there. Second of all, the station goes maybe 3 miles, doesn't really serve any community, and you must also pay maintaince costs if anything goes wrong with it. Just doesn't make sense to me. But sorry I got off subject there.
I could be wrong but the majority of the small towers being used aren't actually owned by Victory FM but they are simply providing content for these small stations out there to have content. I may be wrong though but I think I remember reading that somewhere

Could be for the full powered stations, but they also are setting up little translator stations everywhere in VA and NC also. Those are owned by Liberty, broadcasting 88.3. (for example, whenever I'm listening to the flames play and I don't have TV I listen on the 106.5 station in Roanoke)

That's the one...thanks for clarifying ff30...and I share in postie's disappointment with the content. One of the things I liked about 90.9 is that it appealed to a wide variety of musical interests from rap/hip hop to gospel to rock and even fringe musical styles like ska and techno.

They've got some good sermons on there from time to time. Other than that... it's not stuff that's gonna kill me, but it's not my cup of tea either lol. Spirit FM on the other hand... no I'm not even gonna do there lol

That was another thing...you had a lot of groups that were born on campus that would sometimes get airplay as well

this was blasphemy in the lynchburg "scene" back in the day....but winter solstice wasn't THAT good, but they were the best thing Lynchburg has going so I understood the appeal

And BJ, I am sure there are still bands being formed from people meeting on campus, its a college. Which means there are still people forming bands, haha

lol I know that bud, Im just saying that you have bands like Hot Like Cajun and (I think) Winter Solstice getting played on the station as well as a lot of your mainstream (read: popular) Christian music

lol fair enough...but you get my point...local bands (well campus bands I should say) got airplay and it helped the variety that the station had to offer
