They say the backwoods southern belle type dialect is the most accurate in terms of old-English and that stuff. I actually don't have too bad of an accent compared to around here. North Carolina has the best accent because we have a little bit of southern but don't sound like we're complete idiots. Plus there's nothing better than Carolina girls.

Yep. Liguistic studies show that the Appalachian dialect is VERY close to Shakespearean English, even to the extent that they share idioms.

I cannot believe what I am reading on here....my my my....being a North Carolinian born and raised I must say that I fell as though these are somewhat shots towards me. I will say this that girls I meet who are not from the North LOVE my accent. So to me, having an accent is a plus. And I agree with GMTM.....Carolina girl DO do it the best.
