everybody needs to tune into MSNBC right now. It is hilarious. They just don't get what happened. Maddow, Matthews and some Boston Globe dude are commiserating and sandbagging after the fact. Can you even do that? They're like, of course this happened, Mass is so independent if you look at the registered voter stats, etc. It's just awesome. The voters message today is, "we agree with your healthcare policy, dems but we want you to tone down the cost"

I was getting ready to make a bowl of popcorn and watch Maddow and Matthews completely lose control as well. The only thing missing is Olberman. I guess he is hiding under a chair somewhere.

as one of the UNCAers mentioned earlier, not everything is about Obama. BUT I do think it's funny that this is the 4th time he has made a special trip somewhere to clinch a win and it is the 4th time it has failed. Most politicians wouldn't even let that happen once. You make sure it's in the bag before you make your appearance.

1. VA gov race
2. NJ gov race
3. Olympics in Chicago
4. MA special election

What a clown.

Olberman is there and in rare form; spewing chain insults at Brown like "homophobic, tea-bagging nude model", and then insinuating that if noone disprooves them, they are true. It's priceless. He truly is the most obnoxious man on the planet , and I love seeing him so obviously frustrated.

Msnbc's take: all the Republican victories in VA, NJ, and MA show an independent streak in the nation, that Scott Brown ran as an Independent, not a Republican, and that voters didn't know anything that he stood for (if they knew he supported waterboarding, surely they wouldn't have voted for him!). Dillusional. But, that's why they are where they are.

Kind of disappointed in Brown's speech, to be honest. Could have been a decent speech, but he delivered it horrendously. Needs to pick it up before he gives the GOP Response to the State of the Union.

MSNBC has been an absolute free for all this evening. Absolutely hilarious.

Note to elitist liberal Dems: Don't make fun of people that drive trucks. Might work well in the crowds that you run in, but most of America doesn't agree.

Sly Fox wrote:The funny thing on MSNBC is the reporter at the Brown party keeps giving valid reasons why this appeared to go down and the anchors dismiss them and move back to what a terrible campaigner Coakley was.

Well, to be fair, they are right that she was a terrible campaigner.

However, to call Massachusetts independent...

I agree. I thought he did well in the parts of the debates that I saw, but last night left a lot to be desired. Right before the speech, I had this funny flashback to this other state senator who won a special election for US Senate and then went on to win the presidency 3 years later. Then I listened to his speech. Ehh. Maybe not.
