I have to say that there has been some absolutely GREAT music this decade, but even with the oversaturation of thousands of bands/artists in the market, it's been few and far between. I didn't vote for it, but 2000's has not been as bad as people are making it out to be, much like Disco STUconn's point about disco.

you are right, there are tons of good acts out there right now... but as good as they are, they can't touch the godfathers of metal/rock. and there were just too many good rock variations in the 90's to ignore their awesomeness. rap in the 90's was tops as well.

Bluegrass has influenced too many other genres of music, and people are starting to realize that and taking another look at it. What blows me away, other than the beauty of the songs, is the incredible musical talent of bluegrass artists, including the kids.

And the resurgence of Americana this decade has put a new focus on bluegrass.
