Super, we were at the Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home. One of my former students' Dad just died, so we went down to support her. We came back 52 South to 40 East to 29 North. Is there a 3rd way better than those 2 options?

I thought you were from around that part of NC, but I couldn't recall the name of your hometown: I kept telling Mrs. Cider on the way down that I should have checked with Super first about directions.

Our friend told us that we drove right by the road that takes you to Hillbilly Hideaway, which is one of my favorite spots in that part of the state.

If you were going back by the highway, you should've taken Business 40 instead of I-40. It's probably 5-10 minutes quicker depending on traffic.


The only other way I would suggest is going down to Martinsville, taking 220 to Madison, then 311 to Walnut Cove, and 65 up into Rural Hall. That's the way I go home occasionally. It's a lot of back roads and can get you there just as quick.


Hillbilly Hydaway is up on number 8 if I'm not mistaken. If so, you guys were a couple miles from #8.
