And we should be quick to denounce them when they are shouting a false Gospel, not shrug them off.
Sometimes the denouncement increases visibility and validity. That’s not to say that ignoring them means they’ll go away entirely, rather that it keeps them at the level of crazy they already inhabit.

You made me curious, so l found this.

While I'm leaning toward the election being rigged. I don't support this Jericho march. Just like I don't support your demacrat social justice, false reglious doctrine.

What are you actually saying? I'm asking because I feel like I may be reading into your words with my own preconceived notions and just kind of want clarification before jumping to conclusions.

This. I have never understood those who see Trump as some sort of Biblical Prophecy fulfillment incarnate. On either side. He’s just a man. He’s not a Prophet. He’s not the Anti Christ. I have no problem with them rallying to express their political belief and displeasure. I share most of it. But it’s absolutely inappropriate to try to elevate Trump, Obama or whoever to deification statue.

It seems pretty straight forward to me. I don’t have to be vocal about anything. But my actions need to reflect my beliefs. If we start judging people on their vocalness in opposition as opposed to their actions we are in for a world of hurt. In this situation if you don’t say anything about the lunacy you aren’t giving support. I’m not sure you can logically say you are. But our “society” is leaning towards an Orwellian 2 Minutes of Hate. Not something I say lightly
If you don’t go you aren’t showing support. If you say “I support this” you’ve taken a type of action. If you say “Take your shofar and shove it” you are also taking action.

I agree with PH here, at least from a lay level. I think it’s important for Christian leaders to speak against it, but at the lay level it’s a bit ridiculous to expect everyone to make some kind of statement on the matter. My caveat would be if you’ve got some sort of tie to this nonsense, say if you’ve been vocal about support for Metaxas, it’s a good idea to also be vocal about distancing from what he’s been up to for the past few weeks.

I would think this applies to BLM rioting and looting. Their websites against the traditional family and Christianity in general.

Don't make me post a Dr Voddie Baucham video explaing that movement, and what it means for the church.

Ahh ok. I gotcha. I certianly agree with that more than I disagree but there are always exceptions to that and I believe using the Lord's name vein without a doubt falls into that category.

@TH Spangler , Please don’t, we’re not gonna watch it anyway

The double standard here is that so many evangelicals have no problem pointing out their problems with BLM or critical race theory, but it’s crickets when it comes to Christian Nationalism or political idolatry, which is a much bigger problem in the evangelical church.

The BLM organization also isn't a Christian organization, if it was then it would be a fair comparison.

There is clear difference between the BLM organization and the Black Lives Matter movement which is something we have discussed ad nauseam on here. No need to continue down that rabbit trail.

It seems the general consensus on this board is that the Jericho rally yesterday was out of line. It would be nice if some more influential people in the conservative world would say so. No offense guys, but the end of the day what you and I say on this board has little effect on what happens in the real world :D

This is very important. We have to set ourselves apart when other supporters of things we have vocally supported start doing things that are anti-Gospel.

When the Black Lives Matter organization starts saying things that are against God’s design, people like me have to say it’s wrong and show the difference between supporting racial equality and supporting the tear down of the traditional family.

When radical Trump supporters start invoking the things they did yesterday, it’s important for other Christians to say it’s wrong and show the difference in supporting someone for their policies and thinking anyone against them is Satanic.

Our culture has become one where we loudly support people/organizations but stay quiet when those people/organizations do things that are wrong. It’s led to a complete lack of accountability where our leaders feel they can do anything and not be held accountable. It’s also led to one where Christians get a bad rep based on their lack of holding their leaders accountable.

You might be. I’m not. I take action by telling people what they can do with that type of assumption. Usually in non ASOR approved language

My concern comes when it locks arms with social justice theology or marxism. (explained in "Fault line" by Dr Voodie).

Someone in this thread criticized nationalism. If that means stopping politicians, MSM etc. from accepting financial favors under the table from foreign governments/companies to greenlight policies that hurt the rest of us, sign me up.

Just Pondering. Is Christian Nationalism even much of a thing? Could it be an embellished straw-man created by the media?

The question before us may possibly be--is this a way to silence us--intimidate us--keep our influence out of the public square?

Not saying that extremists don't exist--just saying that it shouldn't apply to you and me. It's not a black and white world.

I would say it's absolutely a thing. I work with pastors all across the country and one of their biggest challenges over the last couple years has been navigating where conservative politics has gone and the rhetoric it has normalized.
