Did you read the studies they have done on the cruise ships? I’m glad they are flying under the radar and have been largely forgotten. I think it gives the findings a lot more credibility and keeps politics and agendas away.

I haven’t dove in as much as you but I remember reading it a while back.

The flip side is the studies coming out now that they’re not sure the antibodies last for a true herd immunity.

I’m at the point now where I’m having trouble trusting any study because this has become so politicized that each side is grabbing what they can.

I am nearly symptom free after over two weeks. Mrs Sly is now free. My kids got it back in February when I brought it home from Seattle. On the upside, we have immunity. But it was miserable getting it.

Who all has lost a loved one connected to the virus?

Just curious based on all the discussion in the thread.
I was in NYC at the end of January and had a cold when I got back. Never got tested.

Have not lost any loved ones to the virus.

I think we have to start living with the possibility that there will be no near term vaccine. We can’t stay shutdown indefinitely. That was never the plan until the “experts” moved the goalposts.

Nobody in my family but 2 friends from church had it and one is still suffering from some hearing loss which is crazy. Both said it was a terrible experience and nothing like the flu.

I know of someone who was suspected of having it but decided not to get tested

I know of 2 or 3 people who lost loved ones with COVID but don’t have any family members who have died

I also know of people who have had leprosy, and PFBC. But I have had neither.

I don't understand what you wrote. Did you have it twice? You appear to be saying that you gave it to your kids in February, but that you are just now recovering after having it for the past two weeks.

I was going to post Ben Shapiro's response to Cuomo's cringe-worthy self-congratulatory "mission accomplished" poster, until I saw this by Krystal and Saagar. If you are not familiar with them, Krystal is left of Bernie, while Saagar is promoted as a conservative counterbalance, but is really more a centrist. I appreciate the fact that they actually make a sincere effort to maintain some journalistic objectivity. It's hard to make this stuff up.

By lasting effects, what period of time are you talking about and what are the effects?

Data is still be gathered on that by just Google covid after effects and the list is pretty long.

Of course we are still in the thick of things so a lot of this won't be fully known or understood once we are on rhe other side.

Which why there is so much conflicting info, we are still learning. It would be much easier if politics would stop getting in the way.

The biggest ones people are experiencing are breathing problems and lasting heart damage. Some have seen issues related to thicker blood (higher blood pressure, blood clots). Some have lasting lung damage too. Others have reported loss of cognitive function.

We obviously only have a couple months of experience so the time period is tough to pinpoint. Doctors aren’t yet sure if the issues are permanent or just a longer recovery.

And before that they were suppressing numbers so I mean Florida is a mess. Nothing new there.
I completely disagree. Having hundreds of labs reporting all their tests as COVID positive is a huge deal

Haha ok man, I think that you missed my point. Florida has always been a mess in all facets of everything. It is nothing new.

Deaths are still going up in Florida so stuff like this is without a doubt a distraction from helping Florida get a handle on things because they have completely botched this re-opening thing. From all facets. From lying about deaths early on to now labs not reporting all the numbers to the governor re-opening everything far too fast. It has been a crap show. At all levels.

Again, it doesn't surprise me because it is Flroida and they literally screw up everything. But I still plan on moving back after I retire. Haha

But if you have 100% of tests coming back positive from a bunch of labs, I would think that opens the possibility that at least some of those deaths are actually not from Covid.

Possibly which is why it needs to be corrected and fast because people are already doubting stuff and are quick to dismiss this whole thing.

I love Florida but man, it is a frustrating place sometimes.

I got sick in February. Mainly respiratory. Had to sleep in at least a 45 degree angle to breath ok. Lasted 14 days. Got an antibody test a few weeks ago just to see if it was covid. Negative. Must have been the flu. I wonder how many people died because they came down with flu or bad cold at same time they were exposed to covid...

Read this today:

According to Bloomberg, 19 of the roughly 100 companies that have filed for bankruptcy during the pandemic have also committed to paying out executive bonuses.
Ain't nothing quite like cashing out before laying off tens of thousands of employees.
