A lot of people on this board seem to have pretty strong tastes in music. I was just wondering how everybody gets into, or discovers new groups that they like the sound of, or maybe even gets into new genres. Aside from hearing a band for the first time at a concert used to just hear what friends are listening to. The dorm was a great place to broaden your musical catalog, but now that I'm out of school and I really don't go to concerts, it's difficult to find new things. Especially since the radio stations around here leave a lot to be desired and for that matter, same with MTV. I'll hear something new on 90.9 every once in a while, but I'll have to hear it at least 10 times on that station until somebody finally says who it is (I normally have to write down a few lyrics and google it). 89.9 is a great way to pick up some stuff if you're into their type of music. And they always say what they play after 3 or 4 songs. I also have recently starting watching a show called Steven's Untitled Rock Show (on fuse if anybody gets that channel), and he seems to know my exact musical taste. Every once in a while I'll find something new that I like from there.
