In the whole T-shirt fiasco it was obvious that along with our Universal T friend there were tons of online shops that will print up a custom shirt. Does anybody know of one that will make up a custom decal/sticker? I've got the LU window decal on the back of my car already, but it's pretty small. I'm looking for some place that I can get one made up to take up a good portion of my back window. I did find one place but it was a minimum order of 300. Anybody know of a site that can do this and let me buy 1?

There's some companies that make clear vinyl sheets that you can use in an color inkjet printer, but they are very expensive.

However, I've got sortof a rough answer/idea. You can go into Walmart or a fabric shop and get very thin clear vinyl. It's the same stuff that they use to make the reusable car widow decals out of. It is very cheap...I think it's something like 34 cents a yard.

You might be able to print it with an inkjet printer...it already has a paper backing...but it might be tricky.

You could make the labels on cardstock paper, and then just cut the vinyl in squares to hold the paper to the window...this is actually how I put my county sticker on my car, and it looks surpisingly professional.

fiasco??? the t-shirt deal went pretty well IMO once we got the paypal thing going. other than an online site which there are many for promotional items, i doubt you will find a place that will make just one. maybe proto has some ideas??

over the years I've had a fair amount of graphics work done for my dept.

if you come up with an idea, or at least a mockup, created in any one of the commercially avail graphics programs (I prefer MS Paint ) you can take it to a local shop and they'll fine tune it, blow it up or re-size it for you and print it out.

something big (say 3' x 4') will likely cost you on the order of 50-100 bucks, maybe more.

also, if you go with standard vinyl, and less than 3 colors- it will be cheaper than reflexite type- though I'm not sure what the going rate is down your way.

Check out truck letter companies or the equivalent.

Also- there are 2 ways to create the look- some companies layer the vinyl on top of each other (for black borders, etc) while others start with white and color print it. That is a cleaner look, but the color tends to fade, esp if you wash the vehicle a lot.

Conn...I do not know the name of the place...but there is a graphic design company along 460 towards Roanoke. Somewhere in the area of Owens Market???? I know my sister went there to get a couple of decals done...she said they were pretty inexpensive...great graphics and they will do only 1 if you are interested...I will try to call her this evening and ask her if she remembers the name...

luconn, you outta put "L-I-B-E-R-T-Y" in huge green, white and red letters across the top of your windshield. maybe add some nice curtains to your windows. blare "fan the flame" (as oppose to music in another language).

your car would fit right in at the sunday morning flea market back in my hometown... mi amigo.
