She has a chance if she teams up with a man named Barak. She's out to get him right now, but Kerry and Edwards weren't too friendly either before their ticket. I think a Clinton/O'Bama ticket has a better chance than Kerry/Edwards did. I don't think the US is ready to vote for Barak for President, but as VP he has a good chance.

Obama would slaughter her in the primaries and probably get the nod if he did indeed run. Unfortauntly for the Democrats, they really don't have a "lead guy" right now. But just for a second, close your eyes and think about these two names at the top of the lists of running the country.. Nanci Pelosi and Hillary Clinton. Now that's a tag-team straight from hell.

That's what you're looking at unless the stupid Republicans can get their act together in two years.

Why did the GOP lose in '06? Simple -- the conservative voters abandoned their party because the party abandoned their base. Spending was far too high, corruption was far too rampant (Mark Foley, anyone?), and the Democrats ran a slew of moderate candidates (such as the pro-life, pro-gun rights Heath Schuler). And the conservative base WILL abandon them again in 2008 unless they can field some decent candidates.

Obama is too inexperienced, speaks in nothings during speeches, and yet... is really, really a hardcore leftist. Hillary (who is positioning herself as a leftist-moderate) will jump on that.

And we all know that the Republican nomination will be one of five people:

Rudy Giuliani
John McCain
Condoleeza Rice (who, let's be honest, has been a DISASTER as Sec. of State, and she doesn't want to run anyway)
Mitt Romney
(wild card) - Newth Gingrich.

Not much pickin's there, although John McCain is the strongest candidate (he's only moderate on stupid issues! who cares about campaign finance reform! Immigration, whatever!) unfortunately, the James Dobson's of the world are going to thwart his bid for the White House. Leaving us with...

If Condi ran she wouldn't get it... nobody is going to vote for anyone that was in the Bush administration. I think Mike Huckabee will probably run.. the governor for Arkansas who spoke here last semester. I saw something on Glenn Beck talking about him forming an exploratory committee. (It hasn't been announced).

As someone who used to cover politics before shifting to sports, I can tell you that the more you learn about politicians (no matter their stripes) the less excited you become about the subject.

As someone who used to cover politics before shifting to sports, I can tell you that the more you learn about politicians (no matter their stripes) the less excited you become about the subject.

Mel is a conservative, but he has blasted the Bush administration recently (specifically, for the war in Iraq). Of course, maybe that's just Mel's way of getting back in good standing with the Hollywood crowd after the entire "Are you a Jew? Jews are the cause of all the problems" rant he went on this past summer.

He actually started ripping Bush on Iraq some time ago when he was first starting work on 'Apocalypto' and well before the DUI/"Jews start all the wars" deal. Personally, I think Mel's just a little nuts -- not anywhere close to Tom Cruise who's completely off his cracker -- but just enough nuts to be entertaining. I also think he's an opportunist and, at the time, he sounded like he was trying to promote the movie -- which contains certain elements of paranoia and xenophobia as a means of keeping the populace in line -- by ripping the administration.

Very true. Almost all celebrities are opportunistic. I don't even know what xenophobia, but I thought about this when I read the Tom Cruise statement:
