I saw Black Rebel Motorcycle Club open for Stone Temple Pilots a couple years ago. They put on a very good live show.

From my pick for album of the year (so far).
Agreed, and it's really not close at this point. Also, I think that song is the standout track.

The more I listen the more I like the entire album. Watching them play it all in a live setting (for a Live on Letterman) also made it more accessible for me.

Interesting. I've always liked them better than Kyuss, though I'll admit this new album has made me like them a lot more than before.

yeah i can't explain it. technically they are very superior to alot that is out there but even like foo fighters post colour and shape...does nothing for me. i wish it didn't.

plus i loved that stoner crap back int he day. kyuss, sleep, the melvins, witch.

which is weird because i like alot of music that is alot worse musically.

I know there aren't many fans here, but I'm posting the new Pearl Jam single here anyway. After 4 or 5 listens I think it's better than any of the singles off their previous two albums. It has a fast punk rock feel to it.

I got to meet Eddie Vedder in 2000 shortly after the accident in Europe. He had a place on the island of Molokai in Hawaii where he used to disappear when he needed to get away from things. I've never been a fan of Pearl Jam's music, but Eddie was a really cool guy with some serious talent. I did like his Ukulele Songs album he released a couple of years ago.

I thought their self titled album from 2006 had a few solid songs on it, but I just never could really get into Backspacer outside of a couple tracks. Before that, I thought both Binaural and Riot Act were mostly solid.

TEN is one of the greatest albums start to finish of my lifetime. Everything else with a rare song here and there is self indulgent crap. But in a socially conscious way

I love No Code and thought Yield was pretty good as well. Either way, they're a better band live. Even if you're not a fan, I highly recommend going to see them live (especially Haize who is our live music guy). If you don't trust me, check out some setlists and read a few reviews. One of the best live bands on the planet.

I saw them live when I lived in Chicago when they were new and TEN had just started to get popular. Haven't seen them since nor do I really want to.

they were good shows. the first one was with my uncle in ny. and another time locally. nothing that stood out tremendously. the 2nd one was kind of annoying because any song that i wanted to hear the entire crowd would sing along.
