We've had 3 earthquakes here in NC today. There was a 2.6 this morning, a 1.5 earlier tonight, and a 2.4 in the last two hours. I know Greensboro is above the biggest fault line in the world but c'mon, three in one day?

2.6? How did anyone know it had happened?

The Winston-Salem PD reported over 150 calls to 911 inquiring about the sound of an explosion in town. I'm guessing that's how.

An explosion from a tiny earthquake. Bizarre.

If you experience an earthquake - and live to tell about it - you should go here: http://pasadena.wr.usgs.gov/shake/cus/ and fill out the "did you feel it" report for the USGS survey. This is a fun webpage anyway - it's to see the frequency of earthquakes - whatever their intensity - in the US alone.

what should you do if you don't survive it? Is there a different website?

We had like a 4.1 in Lynchburg my freshman year at LU...I lived on the hill and didn't feel a thing.

Hey Atrain, I remember that one. It was my sophomore year. I was living off campus, and I did feel it! I was like was that an earthquake?

We've had several in the Charlottesville area that were "feelable." The one I will never forget happened the Saturday after 9/11 - I thought for certain that someone had detonated something very nasty in DC. I think I pooped my pants a little during that one.

The one in the morning woke a ton of people up. I felt the one last night.

If you can feel it depends on what type of soil is around your house.

I was in my dorm room. I remember thinking someone a few rooms down had the bass way up on his stereo.

I remember the Lynchburg 4.1 quake, I just felt a rumbling for a few seconds and that was it. I thought nothing of it at first until the TV Special Reports came on. I thought it was a car or bass stereo

I remember my parents telling me about that one. I was pretty sure the end of the world was upon us.

Shortly after I moved to California from Maine in 1987, we had a 6.0 with the epicenter about a mile away. Made me wonder what I was doing here.... Nothing too bad since, however.

Isn't "...felt the earth move" agaist Liberty Way?

Notice she only said she felt the earth move. I don't think that's against the Liberty Way.
