Jeter is NOT the greatest to play the game....he is one of the all time greats that is for sure....but at this point in his career he is VERY overrated
jeter is overrated...but not by much....hes a phenominal shortstop...fundamental to a T. hes also a playmaker. with his bat and his glove. hes very very clutch.
that being said...this guy has only avg'd 17hr/78rbi/22 sb and an avg of .317 thoughout his 11 full time years in the bigs....
hes a great ss who hits alot of singles....
on any other team hes a good shortstop who gets the job done...on the yankees hes a demigod...
and i don't want to hear any ofthe "but its hard to play in ny" hes been a yankee for 12 years...

(It was so funny on "Lost" to see Jack laugh when Ben-head "other"- told him they have contact w/ te outside world...Red Sox were the Champions. My son ws a NY fan but did a 180 after stepdad took him to a game at Fenway; my nephew is NY fan eventhough my sister is a no-doubts Red Sox fan).
