I agree with Palin's views most of the time but with the liberal media controlling the minds of the nation she is probably not electable. Huckabee, Paul Ryan or JC Watts would be my pick for 2012.

Nikki Haley, governor of South Carolina is someone I would like to see run for president. 2012 may be a bit too soon, but I'd be willing.

At the recent meeting with Governors, she asked Obama about the possibility of states being able to "opt-out" of Obama care and got conditions for such an "opt-out," option AND when she asked if Obama would reopen Yucca Mountain for nuclear waste deposits and he said no, she basically told him to give South Carolina its money back. Someone who's willing to work with the other side and yet also stand up for her citizens has earned my vote so far. (http://www.wltx.com/news/local/story.as ... 47&catid=2)

Palin won't earn the votes of independents nationally.

As for Huckabee, not even if hell froze over and the devil offered free sleigh rides.

I see that Herman Cain (a black conservative) is forming an exploratory committee. I like him, but he's just the leader of a PAC and a talk show host.

I agree with ATrain. I loved Huckabee but after I found out he raised taxes to get in bed with the Arkansas teacher's unions, plus that terrible show on FOX...

We've had this discussion before on here. JC Watts would be an excellent candidate for president but has been out of politics for 7 years now. Rumors were he was going to run in '10 for governor of Oklahoma but declined, so maybe there is hope.

sarah palin =/= not presidential material.
Which raises a question in my mind: When was the last time we saw a major party candidate that truly was presidential material?

JC Watts is one of my all time favorite guys in politics but this last election may have exposed him a bit and causes some concern for me.

Because he called out the GOP for refusing to reach out to the black voters? He's certainly not the first and won't be the last.

The guy was really squishy when it came to Obama.

What does Sarah do if elected when she finds out she can make more money elsewhere? Is she going to quit that gig too.

That whole move I think might have showed her real colors...she's just in it for the money. Not that I'm against people making money but its just not what I want to be the primary focus of my president.

That's absolutely not true. She quit because of the frivilous ethics investigations in which her family had to pay millions of dollars to defend herself. I would suggest reading on how liberals used alaska's ethics laws to render her powerless.

So she quit because she felt she was powerless? Actually 2.5 million 2 of which was paid for by the Alaska government (mainly to people who would have been paid reguardless). So .5 million but I can't believe this is the first time a governer paid there own way. She probably pays that much now every year to keep someone on retainer.

Very squishy....to the point where he said he'd vote for him.

not saying people don't try to make palin look worse then she actually, but come on dude...she has her eyes on the white house and she knew hanging around alaska wasn't going to keep her in the national eye...you aren't that brainwashed to not see that are you?

If it were the case, then so what? Pawlenty has been doing the same way, he was on The View on Tuesday. Which in that that case he has lost my vote

For the record, Pawlenty is an extremely effective communicator who I see as a very strong challenger for the GOP nomination in 2012. I am not saying I'd vote for him, but he will be a tough guy to beat on the campaign trail.
