I've tried to like Craig, I just don't find him that funny. I think he is witty, and isn't terrible, but his show is somewhat boring to me. I really never liked his interview style.

If I had to rank my favorite (although I really haven't seen but a few Falon shows), I would rank:
1) Conan
2) Jimmy Kimmel
3) Leno
4) Letterman

Letterman use to be my guy, but he just seems kinda of bitter the past 5 or so years. The Oprah feud, the Palin feud, the argument he had with O'Reilly, and a few other things have just made me think he is well past his prime.

I've been with Conan since the start. I was an avid Simpson's fan back in early high school, and when I saw that Conan was getting his own show, I had to watch it. I think in a few years, he will be the one that everyone wants to watch.

IMO, this whole thing is going to blow up in NBC's face. They either need to go with one or the other. I really think that if they let Conan get away, they will regret it in a few years, but we will see.

It looks like Leno's canceling is a done deal now! Just waiting to hear whether Conan will bolt or not if they do move Leno to the 11:30 time slot.

I don't think Craig is the best host, but I think he's the funniest comedian of all of the hosts. I enjoy his monologue more than anyone else.

Did anyone see Conan from Friday night? He joked about the whole situation and ripped on NBC and Leno.

I don't think I've ever seen Ferguson, but this monologue is basically Conan 6 or 7 years ago.

i find the people that enjoy craig are usually unfunny themselves so i guess that factors into it.

i'll be honest, i stopped watching latenight shows the moment i dumped cable and got dish network 2 years ago.

i'd rather watch whatevers on food/history/travel/disc.

Haven't and won't. Seems really, really stupid. Never been a fan of him, anyways.

Conan says no to 12:05
People of Earth:

In the last few days, I’ve been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I
want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second
feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I’ve been getting paid to do what I
love most and, in a world with real problems, I’ve been absurdly lucky.
That said, I’ve been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my
bosses are demanding an immediate decision.

Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over The Tonight
Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson
every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant
everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed
up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally
hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the
future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would
have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of
ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting
audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.

But sadly, we were never given that chance. After only seven months,
with my Tonight Show in its infancy, NBC has decided to react to their
terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their
long-established late night schedule.

Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the Tonight
Show to 12:05 to accommodate the Jay Leno Show at 11:35. For 60 years
the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. I
sincerely believe that delaying the Tonight Show into the next day to
accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider
to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight
Show at 12:05 simply isn’t the Tonight Show. Also, if I accept this move
I will be knocking the Late Night show, which I inherited from David
Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot.
That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be
unfair to Jimmy.

So it has come to this: I cannot express in words how much I enjoy
hosting this program and what an enormous personal disappointment it is
for me to consider losing it. My staff and I have worked unbelievably
hard and we are very proud of our contribution to the legacy of The
Tonight Show. But I cannot participate in what I honestly believe is its
destruction. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the
Internet a time slot doesn’t matter. But with the Tonight Show, I
believe nothing could matter more.

There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set
the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have
no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this
quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of,
for a company that values our work.

Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair;
it’s always been that way.

I agree 100% with everything he said. I feel bad for him, and it sucks even more, because NBC will now get what they want anyway, with Leno back at 11:30.

I only hope that Letterman pounds him in the ratings.

Fox ready to swoop in on Conan

FOX is set to move fast to pick up Conan O'Brien for a rival late-night show, according to sources.

Talks between O'Brien and Fox could start as early as this week.

"Chances like this don't come around very often," says the source with knowledge of the situation.

"If Fox wants to be in late night, now's the time."

That Fox is interested in Conan is no secret.

"He's one of the few guys on the planet who has demonstrated he can do one of these shows every night," Peter Reilly, Fox's entertainment president, said last week.

What is new is word that Fox wants to complete a deal with Conan quickly.

Fox has long wanted to create a late-night show -- and a morning show -- to compete with NBC, ABC and CBS.

"Today" and "Tonight," for instance, are cash cows for NBC -- bring in around $800 million a year in revenues.

But starting flagship shows like those has been next to impossible.

"The Chevy Chase Show," Fox's last attempt to crack late night, was canceled in 1993 after just four weeks.

Joan Rivers lasted less than a year on Fox late night in 1986-87.

cable late night at this point is nearly as good as network tv...that majority of people with tv have at least basic cable...so I am sure it will work out for him just fine
