Hillary would already be moving to the center in order to ensure her re-election in 2012. She'd know that she wouldn't have to appease to her liberal base b/c they were going to vote for her over a Republican regardless.

Zero chance she would've gone after healthcare. Zero chance she would have just completely ignored the federal deficit like Obama.

If she hadn't done so from the get-go, she definitely would have moved to the center after Massachusetts. As opposed to doubling down on an unpopular liberal agenda that would have gotten her party crushed in November.
