This year they gave me free sports and HD because they made me pay full price for Sunday ticket, I've NEVER paid full price, normally it's half off or something but this year I canceled it to soon rather then have them call me asking if I wanted to renew. Always call to cancel and say you cannot afford it....this year they were giving away the Premium package for free for a year if you got it. Thats a great deal
That is exactly what I did. I called to cancel Sunday Ticket this year. It was just getting too out of control. They sent me to retention, and after about 3 minutes of haggling, I was getting Sunday ticket for half of what I was paying. Could not pass that up. I was prepared to cancel it, but I knew that they would have some type of incentive for me to keep it.

correct don't even tell them anything just immediately ask for customer retention. they won't say "do you want me to send you to customer retention" you have to ask for the most part.

With companies like Sprint that have a automated system just say "cancel my plan" same rules apply with the CSR's...I hesitate to use the word retention b/c I dont want anyone getting an idea of what I'm trying to do....but that's prob my paranoia more then anything.

Didn't sprint get fed up with you freeloaders a few years back and sent out letters saying they didn't want to be your provider anymore? It was something like if you had called x amount of times and talked to the retention department.

sprint used to suck donkey nuts, so they would bend over backwards to keep you....then they started sharing towers with verizon so now they still give you stuff just not as much...

Lukon, I did hear that but it never happened with me. Either they realized how much this one account is paying a month (pretty much whole family) and didnt bother or I didnt call enough. I really will only call maybe 2 times a year if that and I will make sure it's fully researched as to what they are offering at the time so I dont waste the call.
