One of the problems with this program is that it is destroying assets and wealth and replacing it with debt. And the fact that many dealerships quietly raised their prices to take advantage of the "free" government money, which they will probably never see.

I wish more of our brightest would run for congress, more economists, doctors, engineers, historians, etc. Instead, we get a bunch of lawyers year after year, and they know very little other than making a bill sound confusing.

we have had all the local news stations interviewing people at dealerships the last month. most of the interviews are like "this is great, we were having our worst summer ever and last month we had a great year, this program is working blah blah blhablh" well the problem was all the interviewed were the sales people. one of the stations started interviewing owners and they were less than pleased....paperwork, ridiculous paperwork, denied claims, getting junkyards to come get the vehicles...

btw, non engine parts on a vehicle are the least profitable. generally the cars aren't stripped of all their panels and such and go to pull apart places.

my buddy has a 82 monte carlo he was going to take in but they said it didn't qualify...thats the biggest joke...
