Forwards vs. Backwards

The Oscar Meyer Wienermobile had a little bit of an accident. It ran into a house. Here's what the police had to say... Police said the driver was trying to turn the Wienermobile around in the driveway and thought she was moving in reverse. But she instead went forward and hit the home.

Now, I'm no physics expert, but I'm pretty sure that the difference between moving forward and backwards is fairly significant. Typically when you get closer to something, it appears to get larger. But don't be fooled. It's not magically growing, it's just getting closer.

If it's getting smaller, don't be alarmed, you are getting further away from it.

You can use this new found knowledge in real life. When your friend asks you to see Transformers 2 with him... make him 'smaller'. In other words, walk away from him. The faster he appears smaller the better. Continue this until you can no longer see him.

Now take out your cell phone. Then find his contact record. And then... delete it.

You have successfully mastered forwards and backwards.

Is it any surprise that the driver who confused forward and backwards was described as a "she"?

Ha ha ha. Very funny. I'll take offense to that.

But I must say that was really funny. How can you think you are going AWAY from something when it keeps getting bigger? WOW. I needed a laugh. My sister wouldn't let me laugh at her a few minutes ago, so I needed something to laugh at. I found it. (My sister was plugging up her laptop to the wall outlet but the light didn't come on saying that it was plugged up. Turned out she used the lamp cord, thinking it was the power cord to the laptop, and plugged it up. (The lamp doesn't automatically turn on when you plug it in.) It was hilarious!!)
