She also teaches summer school, because of the "no-child-left-behind" pressure, the school can't afford to lose funding. Throw in most parents who don't give a crap about their kids education and want the teachers to discipline their child (but not too much) & you've got a lot of pressure on the teacher.
She also has graduate courses she has to take throughout the year because she is the lead math teacher.
