sometimes listen to blindside, k-drama, christafari, ghoti hook
i love the insyderz, project 86, demon hunter, becoming the archetype.

I still have a ton of christian music, just don't listen to it as much anymore.

As far as christian metal is concerned you oughta try and pick up the Saturday Night Rock Party on 90.9. They play some pretty hard stuff

Most Christian bands aren't popular enough for me to find on ThePirateBay... I mean the local music retailer.

They just got sentenced to a year in jail and fined a few million $$. But still defiant to the end.

They'll get out of it. Regardless of your views on pirating stuff, I don't see how they can legally be held responsible. That's like Craig getting arrested for these craigslist killings.

If they don't get out of it there will be several large search engines who find themselves liable in ways they weren't before this ruling. The fact that I can find torrents to copyrighted material on Google makes them no different than The Pirate Bay so far as the prosecution's claims went. I won't be surprised to see some big money start being pumped into the defense of TPB.

I personally hope it stays in court for a while. It's in another country so it's not directly tying up my tax dollars and Peter Sunde's open defiance is pretty entertaining.

I'm going to say about 40-50 percent of what I have on my ipod is Christian. When I am in the car I usually listen to oldies or some variety station that plays hits from the 60's to current. CCM on the radio is to much of the same stuff. The songs sound the same, and everybody tries to make their voice sound a like.

Personally, I would rather hear a good artist sing hymns than most of CCM.

As you age you find yourself changing what it is in music that value. I've been where most of you guys in this thread are now. But as I have gotten older, the lyrics become much more integral to my day than the dynamics of the delivery. That's why I find myself listening to primarily to Christian-themed music these days. Most secular music comes across to me as so self-indulgent and flat out opposed to my personal beliefs that I have a tough time giving up my valuable time for it.

All that said, much of what passes for Christian music today seems stale. That's why I am hoping some of the new artists appearing like Battistelli & Need to Breathe take the next step artistically to fill in a void that is widening. And I wish more artists would follow the path lyrically of the Matthew Wests and Brandon Heaths and not the watered down material of most of Christian music today.

On a related note, it seems like most of the better hard stuff all seems to be coming from Euros lately. I guess this is cyclical and Americans will get caught up in it again at some point. In the meantime the pickin's are slim.

I realize he's amongst the bright lights right now with many other things on his mind, but Jamie should be using this thread as research.

I listen to a lot of Christian stuff, it just depends on my mood and what genre, some genres are better in christian music some are not... just depends on the time of the day and who it is

I've become somewhat of a music snob lately - I like listening to unsigned bands, or bands on small labels, so that in five years when they sign to Tooth and Nail or Flicker or someone like that I can say "Ah, yes. I enjoyed their older stuff much better than the overproduced commercial stuff they're doing today."

That said, I've also been listening to a lot of Red and Disciple lately. I'd have to say that most of what I listen to would be considered Christian, though most of the bands hate that label because of the connection to the CCM industry and the banal stuff that passes for Christian music anymore.
