No love for Frogger? On the old 2600 it was the standard by which all other Atari games were measured (my late grandmother was addicted).

Knew a guy who had a high score once. Tried to save the machine to prove it. Didn't work out.

I know that guy...he said it was the perfect combination of grease from the pizza that allowed him to achieve that score

You do realize that we're going to have to split up the tournament into Retro / Old School (Nintendo) / Modern / Next Gen brackets, probably with 8 or 16 each...

And while we're at best sports games, is there anything more fun than dusting off the old Nintendo version of 'Ice Hockey' and playing with all fat guys?

I haven't read this thread until right now, but these games were hilarious. I still think about them from time to time because I spent so much time playing them as a kid. They took forever without walk-thrus. There was also another one Lucas made based on some dude trying to get his motorcycle back. It was good as well.

I'm not sure of the cost or anything like that, but have you ever considered an arcade like the one on another message board I frequent. I know the webmaster of the page and I'm sure he would give you any info you may want. It keeps the high scores and allows you to schedule tournaments for just about every game (with seedings and everything). Check it out!

I played more NES and Gameboy than any other system. Ice Hockey was great for NES. That's the Olympic version correct?

Also good for NES that wasn't mentioned was World Cup Soccer, and Dusty Diamond's All Star Softball, and Pro Wrestling.

A lot of really good games for gameboy as well. Mario, Mario and the 6 Golden Coins, Play Action football, and NBA game which I can't remember the name of. Also Roger Clemens MVP baseball was on gameboy and was a lot of fun.
