Exactly, Coldstone's prices are downright criminal and it's just freaking ice cream.

Myabe I'd have to have it just once to see that it is the greatest ice cream ever made, but I doubt it. Me and my Breyere and edys are just fine thanks.

Maybe I'm just defending Coldstone here because I was a regional manager in NC, but I think calling our prices criminal is a little harsh.

Yes, our prices are high. But the quality is so much better than what you get at the grocery store. When you buy icecream and the grocery store or even at places like Baskin Robbins, you are eating ice cream that was made in a factory somewhere and has been sitting in a freezer for at least a month or two. Coldstone's ice cream is made fresh daily and at most you are eating ice cream that is a week old.

Its the same principle as Starbucks. The prices are so high for their coffee drinks, but they use a better quality coffee bean than what you can find for a dollar cup of coffee at the gas station or a fast food joint.

Another thing to consider is the atmosphere at Coldstone. The one here in Lynchburg sucks, but if you go to a Coldstone in a big city you usually leave feeling special. That was what we tried to do at our Coldstones in NC.

I know its overpriced, but its not robbery. We offer a better quality than our competition so that's why we charge more...

I really can't believe it's winning. It's ice cream. The only thing that makes it any better is that it's customizable. It really just tastes like regular ice cream.

Sorry, the whole "value" thing just pushes CiCi's over the top for me. I like Cold Stone, but don't understand what all the fuss is about for a $4+ bowl of ice cream. Plus I can't stand be crammed into that small eating area! Are all Cold Stone's as small as the 3-4 different ones I've been to?

YES. CiCi's is much more worth it.

Cici's is just too painful. Good value or not, it hurts.

I'm pretty skeptical that ice cream made today is any better than ice cream made 2 weeks ago. If it's made the same way and you don't let it get freezer burnt, I think physics and chemistry tell us that it's the same ice cream.

Also, I've never met you, but I've always assumed you were a regular college kid who went to college after high school. How on earth were you a regional manager? That's like what people go to college to become.

good friends of my mother own a local icecream shop that has a pretty huge following....http://www.whiteysicecream.com/
their ice cream is in a freezer for a while before it actually hits the front dispensers. and their icecream wins awards all the time....
