the dell mini10 netbook has some neat new builtin features such as a tv tuner and has a 720p HD screen and more. it's a shame that's not in the mini12 as I am seriously considering getting that when I save up the money after using it extensively a few weeks ago, the mini10 is just too small for me.

also unveiled some 13 inch laptop that is supposed to be ridiculously thin.

yeah, i was asked to help out the Ferrum SID department for one of their mens bball games over the break because none of the student workers were around to help them out. they had one of the minis, not usre which one, but the thing was pretty nice. i loved how after the thing had been on for over 3 hours it wasnt hot at all. my dell inspiron e1505 gets hot if you just look at the stupid thing and the keyboard wasn't as difficult to use as i thought it would be since it was kind of small...

PALM is on life support and this is a last ditch effort before they join forces with Windows Mobile or someone...PALM is a buggy OS that never has worked right...

I agree that this is their Hail Mary pass, but it's a good one in my opinion. I also agree that Palm OS has been buggy, but this is a completely new OS based on Linux. There's none of the legacy Palm OS in there. 100% new. They've been talking about it for years and many wondered if it'd ever see the light of day. So far it looks good. We'll see. Oh, and the phone ain't half bad either.

and for you DISH dorks, I'd like to mention that I've looked into switching roughly 3 times, BUT- I cannot get the same channel line up that I currently have on DirectTV. Not even comparable.

And for you DirecTV suckers, I'd like to point out that Dish is the only service offering HD-only packages. Now that I have an HDTV, HD is all I care about. I can get a suitable all-HD lineup for $24.99 a month. I don't need a lot of networks, but I do need them in HD now. Of course Dish will never have the MLB or NFL packages. DirecTV has them locked up in a contract for years to come. I don't see that changing. I can't afford either anyway, so no matter to me.

You guys need U-verse. I can record four channels simultaneously on one DVR and play back anywhere else in house.

And I can do the same with the Dish ViP 722k or the new ViP 922. With the 922 I could not only watch TV from anywhere in the house, I could watch them from any device connected to the Internet that a Sling client exists for. (Including my iPhone.)

Their Adamo lineup looks like a hit to me, but we'll have to see what kind of hardware they actually cram inside of those slim cases.

I'm really hoping that Palm doesn't price the Pre at $399, like the rumor has it. That will absolutely kill the phone. Whether they want to admit it or not, they are competing with the iPhone, and they've got to be price competitive with it. If it's a decent price, I'll get one when it comes out.
