That bird is cool as a throwback logo. It's good on its own, but with a minor modern cleanup with sharper retouched lines and deeper/cleaner colors and lines might make it look pretty tight. I would imagine it would be up to the folks on this board and the general student/alumni population to raise this or any other secondary logo to a cult-like underground logo (basic rule of economics, supply and demand.) I like the official logos, but the idea having a rogue throwback logo that gains traction would be cool. Being a Patriots guy myself, the new logo they unveiled is great, but it is also cool to have the throwback logo (kind of like a badge of honor for the true fan.)

Also, dug this up from Miami...and I like the one that Zephyr Hats did for their Miami Z-Line Hats with the windfunnel duck combo. But keeping that LU one is like Miami's Throwback. Here's the link, because I don't know what your guy's legal responsibilities are for possible trademarked images:

Okay the previous was an example of the throwback "Sabastien Duck" Miami used, and the next link represents what I was trying to put into words about an update. This one is a pretty cool "modernized" version of their "Sabastien Duck."

A updated version of the LU Throwback Bird in a more aggressive pose in a jersey with an LU on it like the image in the link would be a great aesthetic look. (Perhaps a flame ball around his hand ala Fantastic Four dude--alright maybe not, instead flames out of his nose! Okay, not really) But a slight adjustment to the beefed up Bird's stance into a Front bicep curl boxing stance would have a good look.

BTW, I found that http://www.sportslogos.net is a decent site to find logos, for those who were not aware.

I may be wrong on this, but I thought it was actually a student at LU who made that logo and LU ran with it. Just as the Lynchburg Hillcats logo was designed by someone here in Lynchburg after a contest was held.

RGB 10,27,78 and 0A254E are two different colors. So are RGB 175,0,0 and AF0000.

I was wrong about the red though, it's the same.

Looking at it, you can't really tell a difference, but it is a different color. I may have simply been a typo. Like I pointed out, there's only a one digit difference.

If someone would freelance a version like that for that throwback bird with the new official colors (deep blue and red on a semi-replica current jersey) that would be a great logo to have on here, I would probably buy something like that in addition to the also supporting the official school logos.
