Anyone else dare to venture out?

My wife and I hit Kohl's at 345...by the time the doors opened at 4...the line was practically to the Wards Ferry Road stop light. Best Buy was crazy...they were letting in only about 20-25 people at a time. It took us about 45 mins to get in from the time the doors opened and our spot in line was only at the end of the bookstore by the road...but it was A WHOLE LOT better to shop inside without the crush of people. We also hit Dicks Sporting Goods, Walmart, the mall, and finished with a nice 10 AM breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Good times.

You could offer Mrs. Cider a free car, but if she had to pick it up at 3:45 a.m., I'm sure she's pass on the deal. :nonono

Gotta agree, Mallet. I'd get up at 4:00 to fish, but to shop? No thanks--unless it was to buy a bass boat or a camper.

it is borderline retarded to go to shopping at kohl's at 4 AM. i didn't do any blacck friday shopping since i'm broke right now, but if I were to do it, online would be the only option, especially considering 84% of all online retailers (yes that means places like best buy and kohl's, folks) were going to have either a black friday and/or cyber monday extravaganzas. 84% of online retailers compared to stores in Lynchburg, not even close to a contest here, especially when you add in the fact there is more supply online...

Yup...Image...pretty accurate description of me.

You raise VERY valid points. Quite honestly, this is simply one of those things the missus and I enjoy doing.

Mrs. Sly and her mother were out at 4am and didn't come back particularly pleased.

The kids let me sleep in until 7:30 am before we resumed our tree trimming projects. I hope to get the lights up on the house tomorrow.

I hit Old Navy on my way back into town, around 1 p.m. They were almost completely out of my size in jeans (although they still had a good supply of surrounding sizes. I bought some faded jeans, although I was hoping to get some darker ones. At $14, it was a pretty good deal. Apparently I have the most popular pant size. Also swung by Best Buy and picked up a gift.

I think my dad got the same thing online and is going to get it delivered to the store so he doesn't have to fight the crowds.

Didn't leave the house except to go to Walmart to buy tea bags, nacho cheese soup, and an extra set of lights for the front of the house. Nobody was there when I got there (about noonish).

yep, don't have to pay for shipping and handling if you get it shipped to the store, just have to pay for the gas to get there, which in the case of a TV I imagine the gas cost would be much cheaper than the S&H costs for a tv.

I went and worked at an Operation Christmas Child warehouse for a few hours Fri. It's amazing how many thousands and thousands of shoe boxes were there. (and that's just in Denver!) Americans still have a little heart.

Garmin 260W GPS and one of the cameras for my daughter.

FWIW...all of their doorbusters were available on Thursday online.

Is anyone aware of any big deals going on for Cyber Monday? All I've seen is marginal discounts if you meet a purchase minimum, or free shipping.

a vast majority of online retailers will be doing them. I know newegg always has some good ones, although I'm not paying much attention since I don't have any spare money to spend.
