if there is no one coming, there's no reason to yield.

And this is getting off topic.

i do the same thing, sweetnahmah. Thats the point of the yield sign. Yield to the traffic with the right of way, aka stop if you need to, dont if you dont

I might be able to bear the merging/yielding issues if people knew how to navigate a four-way stop. Nothing will dumbfound a Lynchburger faster than a four-way stop.

Yesterday coming from new london rd. got off at airport rd. and a-holes getting off the highway the other direction didnt even slow down to round the corner and nearly crashed into me, so when i swerve to miss them and pass them, they flip me off, because it IS my fault
Are you talking about coming off of 460 & going down Airport Dr, heading towards Timberlake?

Because, at that yield sign, there is a small lane that allows for acceleration. So, incoming traffic should speed up to 35 to merge with traffic. If a car is in the right lane & there is no traffic in the left lane, they should slide over to let them merge.

To make matters worse, Lynchburg likes to throw in some four-way intersections that include four stops signs AND a yield sign or two. Like the one at Graves Mill and Nationwide Drive. They have the four-way stop, but then throw in a couple little turn lanes with yield signs. I've spent several minutes behind people who have absolutely no idea when it's their turn to go (which is another common ailment of Lynchburg drivers). I could go on and on about this place.
