A football club is being ridiculed by opposing fans over a calendar which features its players dressed like gay cowboys from hit film Brokeback Mountain

League One side Huddersfield Town were forced to reduce the price of the item from £5.99 to £1 this week after discovering that supporters were too embarrassed to buy it.

However sales have increased in the last few days as fans do their best to stop other supporters buying them.

The souvenir shows players dressed in western cowboy clothing to demonstrate the “young guns” nickname given to academy players who make it into the team.

A source told the Sun:: “The calendar’s wording has not helped — it says it shows ‘12 reasons to get behind Town’.”

Last weekend Tottenham Hotspur became the first Premiership football club to ban homophobic chanting on the terrace. The club have warned fans that offenders may be ejected from premises and risk having their season tickets voided.

You know you can get some good ones at any sporting goods store. Although I am more a fan of the compression shorts. Much more flattering and form fitting, but that is just me!
