jr and becki are awesome, and so is their house. and SJ, the reason you couldn't find FFG was he kept going in that tunnel thing upstairs!

The atv's were awesome too. Some people just don't know how to drive haha

Stubbs does one thing well and that is a Sunday Gospel Brunch. Otherwise, they serve up lame BBQ even though they are a nice concert venue.

Being limited to downtown does limit you greatly. Gueros is still a possibility although its about six blocks across the Congress Avenue bridge from downtown. But if you are on the company nickel, the original choices would work fine. The warehouse district where most of your choices are located really hasn't many new options the past couple of years. And 6th Street has become extremely commercialized (Hard Rock et al).

If you haven't been to the original Chuy's on Barton Springs, you must work it on one of your trips. I'm a Chuy's Special man while Mrs. Sly leans toward the Elvis Memorial. But depending on the location of your accommodations (somewhere near Town Lake, er, Ladybird Lake based on your choices) it would probably be too far. You'd cross the 1st Street bridge and go about 3 blocks up to Barton Springs and then hang a right for about 4 more blocks. Being without a rental car seriously inhibits the Austin experience.

I haven't been since the re-opened following a fire, but the Oasis is another Austin area favorite. But it is out on Lake Travis about a half hour drive from downtown.
