I just came back from seeing it. I LOVED it. Very gruesome, and it had it's fair share of crude language, but I thought he did a good job showing just how evil much of the world is. He really takes a shot at those who believe we should be a pacifist nation.

As far as I know, unrated movies are not allowed either.

I saw it. It was GREAT!!!! blood, guts, violence galore!!! made pacifists look TERRIBLE! (happened to be portrayed by christians, but youd have to see the movie to understand it...)

and yes, sometimes violence DOES solve things... for those who wondered...

oh, btw, not a student... so as the Hamma would say... nah, nah, nah, nah... CANT TOUCH THIS!

We went through this with an RD. If it airs on broadcast TV you can have it. We taped Saving Private Ryan which ran unedited on ABC and were told that was allowed. NR movies that were not on TV are not allowed. It seems like 60% of movies released on DVD are NR nowadays.

When I was a senior, my roomate and I snuck the stash of R rated movies that were confiscated at the beginning of the semester out of the RA's room and watched them all throughout the semester and then put them back before anybody noticed. It was surprisingly easy. Our RA's were stupid or just not paying attention. One of whome is now an RD.

Is this on the books? The last time I checked (and it has been a while), the movie prohibition was determined by its rating. If a movie is not rated, it doesn't fall under the rule unless the Liberty Way has been amended.

everyone interprets it differently, it depends on if the RA is looking to write reps or not

see, thats another thing about RA's...

typically (note i said typically, not all...) you give some full of himself 19 y.o. kid a bunch of power to do basically as he pleases with everyone else in his dorm, and everywhere else on campus, and then wonder why everyone hates RA's. although to be fair, while a few of the guys are intolerable, the females seem to be for the most part, jealous, hateful little...... (not going to finish that...lol) who don't like themselves and take it out on everyone else as a result.

that being said, there are a few cool ra's... and they are like once in a blue moon. i believe a-train had one, and a good buddy of mine is one (although for the record we were friends BEFORE he became an RA and he became one, literally, by accident...)

Without RA's enforcing the rules...
..you will have guys like Medic (sans stache) skydiving off the top bunks in the dorms!

and the problem with midget skydiving is....?

besides, being a GNED teacher, wouldn't you agree with me that people should take personal responsibility for their actions? and if they want to skydive off of a bunk, well, they will jsut have to take responsibility for that upon hitting the floor. id think it would at least give you some great object lessons in class...

:D

and just for clarification, that would be a total of 2.75 cool RA's in the 4 years that I was at LU... oh wait, there was my buddy Luke who rode a ducati and trained MMA with us. i believe he was an RA... maybe... i think he was... see, the fact that im not sure, shows just how good an RA he was if in fact he WAS an RA.

ANYWAYS, thats a total of 3.75 RA's in 4 years... NOT A GOOD AVERAGE!!!!
