January 12, 2008 -- A man who died giving himself a sherry enema has been named the winner of the 2007 Darwin Awards - the annual prize given to idiots who through their own stupidity have removed themselves from the gene pool.

As described in The Post's Weird But True column in October, Michael Warner passed out after injecting three liters of booze up his keister - but the booze kept getting absorbed into his bloodstream. By the next morning, he was dead with a blood-alcohol level of 0.47.
